No ground in harness for knock sensor

Hey everyone im wiring in my knock sensor connector coming out of the harness and i see the white one coming out of the brown cover. But there is no black wire for the ground? Can i make my own ground to the firewall? thanks

well im kind of curious myself i had a 2g knock where the wire(s) were pulled off but there reallywere no two wire one is like a shield and one is the signal but there was only one wire that actually connected to the knock sensor the wire seems to just split somewhere

The sensor makes its own ground through the engine block itself

well how would you hard wire it if the wires become cut

This is not true. There is a signal wire and a ground to the signal. The shield around the signal wire IS the ground.
