Gananoque,
I have the big brake upgrade on my 1g with slotted front rotors, stock rear, Hawk HPS front pads and KVR carbon rears with SS lines. Last year the brakes were awesome but now after just normal street driving, no track time yet it seems that the brakes have lost it. I mean I can put the brake pedal to the floor and with the clutch in or out I can not lock them up. Now I did over the winter remove the ABS and install non-abs lines and proporting valve, I bled all brakes and there was no noticable air in the lines, at most there was tiny tiny little bubbles that you could barely see.

I plan on bleeding the front brakes tonight to see if that helps, but could it have anything to do with the pads?

Reason I ask it that I'm going to try out some Solo2 racing for fun Thursday and want to have things working right by then.

Thanks :D

so did you let the pads properly break in you know how the manufacturer says to goes really easy on them for about 30miles. if you didn't they will not perform very well after a while plus if you are like me and you burn the hell out of your pads they will fade quicker after a panic stop/ quick hard brakeing especially when exceeding the heat range of the pad. for example if you run ceramics and burn the hell out of them they will harden and eat the hell out of the rotor. especially noticable with raybestos ceramics those pads always cause rotors to turn blue and crack very quickly. happened to me with brembo rotors. also you said you put a proportioning valve on thats probably where your problem is because it takes for ever to get those things set right lots of trial and error. also use a synthetic brake fluid especially for performance brakeing. as for the bubbles it doesn't matter how small they are any type of air will cause problems when the calipers get nice and roasty hot. have you replaced the master cylinder yet to top off the brake system to thats a good idea.
