st-aubert,
hey guys i would like to know how much boost my 91 tsi is running at?i think stock is 7 but im not sure(some1 confirm this please). And how much psi I can add with stock injector/fuel pump?(im running on oversize piston but idk how bigger they are so just tell me what I need to know based on a 100% stock talon, thanks.

If your bone stock your most likely running between 7-9psi. Just hook up an aftermarket gauge to confirm. If your wanting to know how much boost you can safely run I wouldnt recommend more than 12psi. Some will say 14 some will say 16 etc. Its not SAFE to run any amount higher than factory if the cars maintenance isnt upto date and your ready to spend money in case it breaks.

Fuel cut is an issue sine your stock that is why I said 12psi. Its more like boost at your own risk and dont blame anybody but yourself if something goes kaboom.

According to vfaq
"1G cars have a stock boost pressure of 8-12 psi. 2G cars have 10-15 psi. The service manual allows lower pressures, but those are rarely seen in actual vehicles. "

Getting a MBC soon and will also get a gauge too.So 12 is max?If I want to go higher will better injector + fuel pump upgrade is enough?

You sound VERY uneducated about this.
Do NOT mod unless you know EXACTLY what's going to happen from it, and what the consequences could be.
Please read some upgrade articles and learn about what you're doing, so you don't grenade your engine.

I AM uneducated about turbo'd engine that's why I post HERE and try to get as many info as possible from every source I can before I start anything. This is the first turbo engine I ever had and don't worry I know how I take care and pay attention on my other cars.I know it is not a toy and it requires alot of knowledge that's why I want to learn before I do anything. My dad is a mechanic and I am in this also. There is ALOT of pro around me but I personally want to know it.I could just put my hand in my pocket and give money to people to do it but I WANT to know it.

I wasn't trying to make you angry, but the questions you have been asking have already been over multiple times!
I'm just trying to help you out mang.

I know and I thank you honestly. And I am not angry at all don't worry.I'm reading the tech guides and people's opinions and nice to know too...

The max boost for a 1G on the stock fuel system is 14 PSI. after that you need fuel management plus supporting fuel mods.

v- Either way 14 is the highest recommended boost with out logging or fuel management...

Where do people keep coming up with 14psi and 16psi. Actual boost will vary depending on a number of elements including climate elevation etc etc etc... Fuel cut is very real but its not a magical number the ECU reads.

I simply stated 12psi BECAUSE you will be satisifed with this number once you build a cheap Manual Boost Controller MBC and buy an aftermarket boost gauge. Stock boost gauge is about as useless as lick your finger and holding it up to gauge wind speed at 60mph.

12psi will get you the feeling of acomplishment and you should still be safe. Ive never seen a car hit fuel cut at 12psi. I do however own a 2g that is fickle. Somedays its safe to boost 17 and others I begin to feel the studder of fuel cut around 15. It all depends on alot of things.

As already stated there is no SAFE number anything you do to make the car run faster without proper tuning and know how is like going to reduce life expectancy of moving parts.

and to Lofty I read that in the Vfaq and it states 10-15psi LOL Ive never known a single 2g to run 15psi on the stock BCS and stock WGA... but I guess it is what it is

Its funny how Alldata states the specifications for a good WGA on a 1g are between 7-14psi never seen a 1g run 14psi stock either

To the OP buy a Boost gauge your cheapest insurance and first upgrade

Good Luck

um...is it really only 7-9 psi of boost for a 1g Talon?? if that's true my factory boost gauge is out to lunch. It always shows 12 psi under full boost. I've also read that factory boost is like 12.2 psi or so

Your factory boost gauge doesnt read boost period. Its about as useless as licking your finger and holding it up to gauge wind speed as stated in the post that you quoted me.

The factory gauge reads airflow from the MAF and MAP sensor and guestimates your basic ASSUMED boost. Unhook the MAF and it will quit functioning. If you remove the stock WGA and run 7-9psi into it the arm will move. Ive seen some hold more or less but usually varies between 7-9psi from the factory. My 16g WGA w out the MBC installed holds steady about 8psi.
