I'll just start by saying DO NOT reply to this post if you're going to lecture me. I know plenty about venting. I know the right way to do it and i know all the pro's and con's.

I got borred today so i decided i'd vent my BOV just for a few spins around the block just for kicks to see just how bad it makes your car run and what it sounds like. First of all, everyone on here is like venting nazi's because it doesn't make your car run THAT bad (at least a stock car). Second, you get A LOOOT more attention driving around. So my question is for EXPERIENCED venters out there. Where can i get a cheap set of UICP made to fit a GM MAF? I'm going to be running the T-25 for about maybe a year or so until i upgrade. I'm doing my FMIC, injectors, fuel pump, and turbo all at the same time. (last thing i do). I don't mind paying like $100 for something to last me a year. But i don't really want to pay like $300 for greddy pipes that i'll just throw away.

thanks in advance:dsm:

1) If you really know that much about venting you also know that how badly it affects between shift and new gear tip in greatly depends on the weather. Today it may run with just a hint of a stumble, tomorrow it may bog like crazy depending on the weather.

2) If you are going with a GM MAF, then you also need to go with a MAF translator. So you are already well above your $100 when you add in the cost of pipes. Figure around ~400 for the entire setup to work decently without any really performance gains whatsoever ( besides the tuning ability ).

3) What are you going to use for tuning? If you are going to truly use the MAF Translator, then go for it. If you are looking to just get the "cool" sound and plan on using a SAFC or DSMlink or some other option, then save your money, just open up the bov and deal with the consequences.

Or you could just leave it be.

But that is just IMHO. And just so you know, I run a GM Maf in blowthrough with a Translator and I vent my BOV so I am not just giving you sh!t for the sake of giving you sh!t.

Well I'm not going to lecture you, but I will say six words - VENTING ON STOCK MAS IS BAD!

Now to answer you question, you can make any metal upper intercooler pipe accept a GM MAF. You just need a 2.5" to 3.25" coupler for the 3" GM MAF. You will also need a MAFT with the GM MAF.

what you could do is get a hardpipe recirc kit. or make it? Its fairly simple actually, and it is JUST as loud with all the good effects.:thumb:

Ok. Aparantly people don't ACTUALLY read the post? I stated that i know how to vent. In other words... I know I need a GM MAF and MAFT. This post is not about venting or not venting. I'm going to vent. And I'm going to do it properly. Nothing you say can change it. I KNOW venting on the stock MAS is bad. That's why i only took one lap around the block. (that's about 1/8 mile, maybe less).

I can still keep my GM MAF and MAFT when i upgrade to a FMIC. So... like i ORIGINALLY stated... where can i buy an UICP ALREADY made to fit a GM MAF so all i have to do is take out the stock UICP. Put in the new one with the GM MAF, mount my BOV (i prefer the pipe already be flanged for a Greddy BOV), and hook up the MAFT. I basiclly want a straight bolt-on part. I don't want to do any custom work(on the UICP for my sidemount anyway) and i don't know the dimensions or anything for an UICP so i couldn't have a shop make the pipe. The pipe doesn't have to be the nicest in the world. Just good enough to not explode and to last about a year or so. (untill i upgrade to a FMIC).

If anyone knows who will custom make a pipe like that, then i wouldn't mind going that route. But i don't want to mess around with it myself. I want it to be a simple and easy install.

Okay, you got some information. Now this is going with all the other "I know venting is bad but I want to anyway" threads.

And just so you know, we are not "venting nazis," but in the forum, performance is first.
