NEWB help with buying 1g

Hey guys im looking at a 1g for sale tomorrow. I havent really looked around here and just want a quick answer. I just wanna know what i should be looking for in this car if it seems like it runs fine i just dont wanna get ripped off. It is a 91 tsi. Mods include 5spd, FMIC, 550s, refreshed eng, Walboro pump, alcohol inj, ARP headstuds, no rust, Greddy emanage, 150k Southern car. Looks from the picture it is pretty well mainted but i was just looking for some advise for when i go look at it. Thanks in advanced

I personally don't like buying modded cars, but for one you should see what "refreshed engine" means exactly, and get details on what was replaced. I also think emanage is garbage and a some real tuning software should be used. But thats a little off topic, I'd ask for reciepts of recent matience, carfax, maybe even take it to a dealership to look it over, most will do it for a certian fee.

Don't trust any rebuild unless you see reciepts. And make sure you check every thing before you buy. I put 4500 into my lemon laser i bought.

Even though it is a "refreshed engine" take off the oil cap and look inside the head. You can't trust some people. If the inside of the head is clean and you don't see signs of burnt oil and there isn't a gold tint to the inside, then they could be telling the truth. If there is burnt oil still on the inside of the head, I'd steer clear of that car.

Make sure it is shifting good also. Give it a few decent pulls under boost. How much is the car?
