The 3G and up ignitions use a chip key to authorize the fuel pump to run. You will need to bypass this system in order to use the 3G starting system.

There are articles here, and on the 3G forums that discuss this process.

1G (1st generation) 90-94
2G (2nd Generation) 95-99
3G (3rd Generation) 00-05
4G (4th Generation) 06-12

DSM - Diamond Star Motors

T25 - oem Turbo found on 2g eclipse

14b - oem Turbo found on 1G

S16g - oem turbo off a Lancer Evolution

B16g - oem later model of a Lancer evolution turbo

Evo316g - oem later model of Lancer evolution turbo

6-Bolt vs 7-bolt
Short name for which kind of block or generation of the 4G63T that comes in these cars from the factory. Early 90-94 cars can have a 6-bolt or a 7-bolt. While 95-99 has a 7-bolt. There are differences between the two but the more popular reference you will see is a 6-bolt has six holes on the fly wheel vs the 7-bolt has seven. Both engines above came with a turbo charger from the factory.

420a - non turbo version of the car Or a 2.4L.

You will also see guys reference evo3 a lot. All this means is it's parts from a Lancer Evolution 3. The 4G63 has a bunch of interchangeable parts that are upgrades from what's factory. Similar to how guys use different LS cams or heads for example.

Hope this gives you an idea of the lingo used around here. If I were you I would look up the FAQ area of the forum and do a google search to also help break things down it helped me a lot wheb I first made my way to the DSM world.
