I just installed my GM maf and Maft. I wired he maft into the 2g maf harness because the maft came with the plug cut off. Now im running a 14b turbo on my 95 talon. I have all the oem water and oil lines going to the turbo no kinks or anything. Today I noticed that I had some smoke not bad out my exhaust when I got home only when gas is applied. Now when I popped my hood, you could see the HEAT coming off the turbo and also the exhaust where the SS braided flex part was. Its getting so hot, you can see the smoke coming off it. Now my wideband is reading 10-11.3 at idle and also driving. If I get on it, I might see 13's. Also now with the venting now, the car stalls constantly. Once in a while I can get the car to hold a idle, but it idles at like 300.

I know when I was driving, you can hear that turbo spooling at 1500, and the injen filter sucking in so much air. But, when I shift, once in awhile my exhaust will give a quick pop.

I dont want to burn up the aem sensor for my wideband, and also would love to fix my stalling issues, without hearing buy link its that only way. Any suggestions?

Do you have some sort of data logger that you can use to read incoming air volume, seems like the MAF is allowing too much airflow causing a lean condition

man I have looked on ebay and also dsm classifies and no loggers. I read the 20 pages on general questions on GM maf and MAFT. To me , I was thinking the car acts like it did when I was running oem 2g maf and I unpluged it with car running, it would stall. So to me, I was thinking the maft wasnt sending a good signal to the gm maf for the ecu

The maft is a mild tuning device, can I get a SAFC and use that and have a decent idle so I dont stall at every light or stop.

NOT FUN ON ORLANDO TRAFFIC and embarrassing

You should be able to with the SAFC (I don't have one that's why i say it should).
I just ordered a palm pocket logger from someone on here and that's what i was gonna use for the MAFT setup.
If its running like it did when you had the stock 2G MAF unplugged then your getting too much airflow, deff get some tool to read incoming air volume and adjust the MAFT accordingly.

should I PARK the talon before this setup wrecks it? Its my ONLY ride :-(.

I just wanted to vent my bov.

Any idea on where I can get a pocket logger, or do you think I should just do the maft setup and use a safc?

Did you setup the translator box? It's not plug and play even if it was installed in another DSM previously.
You can get the manual for it here: 1G / 2G DSM MAFT version 2.XX (Current Version!) - Full Throttle Speed Tech Support

:-( my computer isnt allowing me to open your link. Just shows a blank word pad

Until you get it fixed yes!
You will fry your motor running it too lean all the time.

Ive talked with a local DSMr in my area that used to run SAFC with MAFT and he didnt have any problems.

You could go with the PALM pocket, you'd need the palm, some sort of cord to connect to the OBD2 port and the software.
IDK about the 2Gs but you cannot buy the 1G cord anymore, you either have to find someone who is willing to sell it to you(like I did) or make one yourself.

EDIT: If I were you I'd hook it back up to stock until you get either a SAFC or some other data logger.

Go here: MAF Translator and click the support/downloads button at the top/middle, that will take you to the fullthrottle tech forums where you can download the manual and there's also a section for 1G/2G support.

I had the same issues man, once you set your base line the car will run, but like crap, you have to adjust the increments VIA wideband to get it right. I had to sit down and mess with it for 3 hours to get it to stop popping and run decent. Then when the weather changes, I.E. temp changes more than 20* it will run crappy again untill you re-adjust it. Its a PITA and should only be used as a signal converter.

Adjust the MAFT using the wideband as a tuning tool. Try to keep it around 11 @wot it wont get the most power, but its will keep you from blowing the car up, if your at 13:1 @WOT then you are pushing your luck with the stock motor.

Yes, the links above will tell you what each knob will adjust, if you still have the cover for it, there is a picture on the back that tells you what knobs do what. If the number on your wideband is above/below 11 at a given RPM range adjust the knob accordingly until its as close to 11 as you can get it at WOT. If you choose to hook up the white wire to your CAS you can adjust it in smaller increments for fine tuning.
