i have a 2g eclipse spyder and i must say i am for sure a believer in DSMs now. i have owned the car for a year but i deployed and just got back and man was it in really rough shape (when i say that i mean 4 flat tires top leaking around rear window ect.) i did a little tune up on it and replaced the wires, spark plugs, O2 sensor, both control arms on the front, starter, air filter, it had a boot leak which came back to the stock blow off valve which i replaced. it is still running a little rich, im not sure where to go from here. i dont want to keep having to order a bunch of unneeded parts because im stationed overseas and it takes forever to get them in the mail. it is IMPOSSIBLE to find parts for american spec cars, i brought it to a mechanic and his exact words where "i have never seen a car like this in my entire life" so that was a dead end. that narrowed it down to me just talking to guys on base with tuners and getting help from them and i also just look on here and search. since its illeagal for italians to actually modify their motors(which is why they all just buy cars already fast IE lambos and what not) im quite limited, im not looking to go overboard to the point where i need to get it tuned since the nearest guy is in england and he charges an arm and a leg, rather im just looking to maximize what is on the car already. it is completly stock other than what i have listed. any help is appreciated

Illegal to modify your engine? man, that sucks! I'm sure never gonna live there, LOL. Anyways, seems like your going down the right path for now. first thing you should do is fix and whats broken as it appears that is what you are doing. The car running rich could be a number of things, you said you replaced your o2 sensor did you check both front and rear? also i saw in your profile you have a HKS bov, is it recirculated or vented? If it is vented and your still running your stock MAF it can cause inconsistencies with your A/F ratios.

You can have fun modifying your engine and the average Joe will have no clue... a true sleeper so to speak ;) For example you can rewire your fuel pump, upgrade your T25 turbo to T28, looks exactly the same but out-performs the T25, Remove the boost restrictor in the BCS and much much more... I'm not telling you to be or do anything illegal by any means, simply just making your stock engine a better stock engine so to speak ;) If it's not illegal to "tune" you can get an SAFC, to adjust your A/F ratios to fine tune your ride as you go. :thumb:

modifying my engine is not illegal for us americans here the polizia just dont like our loud cars haha, as far as the BOV its recirculated. before i get a different turbo i want to replace the hoses with better and newer ones and it would probly be a better idea to get the fuel pump also. what kind of problems would i run into if i removed the boost restrictor?

Oh, i see... i guess i misunderstood your initial post. you wont have any problems by removing the boost restrictor as it will just give you an extra psi or two of boost to hold you off until you can replace it with a MBC or electric unit. A rewire of your fuel pump should be done at this point anyway until you replace it, especially if you up the boost at all just to be safe. Plus it surely does not hurt to have rewired fuel pump wiring with an upgraded fuel pump down the road.

No problem, Yeah, the Walbro 190LPH is a great option if in the end your looking for moderate power gains and don't plan on doing a full all out build with over sized injectors, huge turbo, etc etc... If you do plan on going big then a Walbro 255LPH is your better bet. That will provide you more than enough fuel for high boost easily up into the 500+hp range :sneaky:. However, with this larger sized fuel pump you are going to need an AFPR unit to run it properly at the right level as the stock regulator won't cut it with the 255.
