Whats up guys, my name is Mike. I just bought a 91 GSX. So far its got some free mods, KYB's 2.5" downpipe with external dump, 3" exhuast, a small 16g, mbc, and a couple other gadgets here and there. I own a shop called Street Performance here in my town (not a free pitch), and i should be picking up a spare 4g63 here in the next couple weeks. Ive got a buddy up at buschur, i'll be talking with during the rebuild. A lil about my past cars, i had a 95 Saturn pushing 27lbs on a gt25/To4s, a 95 civic hb, with a gsr swap, and nitrous. Anyhow, im excited to start with a new awd project, that will soon become my shop project car undergoing a complete rebuild from the ground up. :thumb:

:dsm: Welcome.

OMG 27lbs on saturn? What model was it? What'd you had done to it to be able to run 27psi? That's a nice acomplishment.

10:1 compression, JE pistons to my spec. I built the motor top to bottom :D

To the guy with the bs picture. Thanks for showing your ignorance in front of all these people :thumb:

The car was ran on pump gas with 32lb up fromt the factor 24lb injectors. Controlled with nothing more than an s-afc. Did it idle well? NO. Did it drive smooth? NO. Was it fast as hell? YES. The first time we took it to the track we lifted the head off the block and let off a little before 1000ft and coasted to 13.9@105 at 12lbs. The car ran at 12-15psi daily. 27 for shits in giggles when we felt like spinning the tires at 100mph. Since no one here knows me yet, ive been around performance for years, i started in saturns back in 97, and worked on them till 2003. I was one of the first tuners for saturns, which i know those two words do not typically go together, but theres a very small percentage of guys who actually learned what it took to make it work. The kit was designed by a company call twistec performance products (www.twistecproducts.com) and was designed as a test kit for production. I only kept the car for about 6 months after i put the turbo on it. Ive still got the kit which will be going on our scca race car out of daytona. The same setup netted 430hp on a motor built very similarly to mine from the same company.

Anyhow, for those who understand engine tuning, they'll believe. For the one guy who questions, congrats on ignorance!

O hell no a noob just told a moderator bwhahahhahaha. Take that defiant bwhahaahahha. Nice accomplishments though.

I'm not going to call bigtime BS right away, but let's get some questions answered first. If you're legit, this will not be a problem.

1. You ran 105 mph on pump gas with 32lb/min injectors? That's a tiny injector, and not only that, but it's a VERY small upgrade from stock. What kind of fuel pressures were you seeing? Were you using a rising rate regulator, or were you using a higher than stock base fuel pressure?

2. I want more information about the turbo. You said "GT25" but there are so many companies calling turbos different things I want to make sure you and I are on the same page. Are you talking about the GT25R, which is one of the newer Garrett GT series wheels?

3. You would run 12 psi on pump gas, and then 27 psi for fun? I assume that this 27 psi was on race gas? So, you're telling me that on race gas you ran 27 psi on 32 lb/min injectors?

Let's get that all cleared up.

Excatly.

You may not last long if you insult moderators that way o anyone for that matter. I dont think that to many people are going to believe you. If you can come up with viable proof then you wont have to worry, but if not then you get what comes to you.

51psi -Stock=42psi on my particular year Any more fuel pressure than that, it was fouling out plugs. You guys have to remember your used to dealing with turbo cars, that have every accessory in the world available. The company who built my kit (which there is a link above for any non believers) takes great pride in the kits they build, and making them run on very simplistic setups.

Correct. I'll post up a picture of the car here this evening.

27psi was on pump gas yes. Did we run it on this for any period of time? NO. Here and there. 32lb injectors, are a very LARGE upgrade from stock, believe it or not, and they are just above the largest the computer can make idle on its own (28lbs will idle fine but cant supply enough fuel for the setup at anything higher than 18lbs)

Let's get that all cleared up.

So now that your cleared up, if the above moderator is so profesional he wouldnt post up bullshit pictures like he did. Thanks. :thumbdown

And as far as telling the moderator off, im not here to talk shit. Im here to enjoy my new project. I dont mind answering questions, especially when people are seeing something they (most) have never seen before like a turbo saturn, but i do mind putting up with bullshit like that.

We are passign judgement on you and you are getting mad, but you are doing the same thing to the moderator and expect him or other to not get mad. Once you get to know Defiant you will learn to love him.

It seems you are skirting around some of the questions. You posted a pic of a turbo and thats cool, but there are still no specs for anyone to see. The you said that you ran the car on pump gas, then it changed to ran for just a bit on pump gas. So what is it. Can you make a pull through a couple of gears on pump gas with 27 lbs and nto get any knock?

As far as there site goes i checked it out because I was a "non believer" and I still am. That site says nothign about turbo kits, just mufflers and an intake for an SRT-4. The only clickable links is to a bigger picture of the product. So, yes, I am still a non believer.

It doesnt matter what type of car, motor, or head it is 27 psi on a 10:1 motor is still hard to believe on pump gas. we have motors designed just for boost and its hard to get that many psi on 8.5 with out knock.

What? Are you talking "injectors" or pounds of boost?
Controlled with nothing more than an s-afc. Did it idle well? NO. Did it drive smooth? NO. Was it fast as hell? YES. The first time we took it to the track we lifted the head off the block and let off a little before 1000ft and coasted to 13.9@105 at 12lbs.
Now it's back to twelve pounds.

What really are you talking about?
The car ran at 12-15psi daily. 27 for shits in giggles when we felt like spinning the tires at 100mph.
Ah, so you weren't running twenty-seven pounds of boost, but you'd bumped it up to that. And blew up the engine doing so. Well, then, that's not bullshit, is it?
The same setup netted 430hp on a motor built very similarly to mine from the same company.
The motor in my car was from the same company that built the planes and ships to attack Pearl Harbor.
Anyhow, for those who understand engine tuning, they'll believe. For the one guy who questions, congrats on ignorance!
Yeah, ignorance. I'm used to fast engines that idle and run smoothly, and still looking forward to the first engine I blow the head off of. Or, otherwise damage. I guess it's all in the tuning, though.

Still, welcome to DSMtuners.

See your wrong. Im not upset, mad, or anything else. I probably am more laid back then anyone you'll ever meet.

No it always ran on pump gas. I ran it at 27pounds for shits in giggles a few times a week. The car ran so incredibly rich at 12lbs it would actually drip fuel at idle out of the downpipe. Is this good? Absolutely not. Was i going to buy a electromotive ems for it when i didnt plan on keeping the car? Not a chance.

Their site actually works just fine with plenty of clickable links. Might try looking at it again, as it shows their basic turbo kits.

I totally agree with you. Who ever doubted that? the fact that its difficult, and the fact that it is possible, and has been done, is a totally different idea all together. Talk with Jeff at twistec on that. He loves people who doubt his work. :)

When dealing with domestic cars, injectors arent reffered to in CC's. We go by lbs. The injectors were supplied by Cottmans Performance up north ( i forget the state) a very well known company in the GN world.

And no, the case of the car blowing up was not on 27lbs so good job :thumb:
The car actually lifted the head on 12lbs of boost. Does running 27lbs on it for shits and giggles contribute to that? Most definitely. So to answer your sarcastic question, it was not bullshit. And as far as the tuning comment, if I had the tools available that these dsm's did back when i built the saturn OMG it would have been a whole different ball game. I didnt come here insulting you, you dont insult me. You might be a moderator. Your not god, dont act like you are. Like i said, i came here because im excited about being able to build a car for 400+hp that is perfectly streetable, not to put up with your bullshit.

So why does it change from 27 to 12? WTF If you are so good at tunning then why not tune for the 12lbs and then retune for the 27 lbs. The newer AFC will store 2 tunes.

I check again and there isnt even a metion of turbo kits. There is a pic of a maifold for a Saturn but no kits. Perhaps someone else could check it out and report back.

We doubted it and you said you did it but then all the munbers changed and still are. If he loves people who doubt his work then have him sign up here too.

Yup i see that. Thanks for the warm welcome. After i lifted the head, i just put a new head, head gasket, and timing chain in it and sold the car off. The turbo kit we kept, to put on the scca car to see how much fun we can have with it.

As far as the **** above. If you want, IM me. I will not sit here and have pissant discussions with you on the board

Welcome to the forums. Always nice to see another DSMer. Anyway, good luck with the project. How much did the Saturn go for when you sold it?
