Whats up guys, my name is Mike. I just bought a 91 GSX. So far its got some free mods, KYB's 2.5" downpipe with external dump, 3" exhuast, a small 16g, mbc, and a couple other gadgets here and there. I own a shop called Street Performance here in my town (not a free pitch), and i should be picking up a spare 4g63 here in the next couple weeks. Ive got a buddy up at buschur, i'll be talking with during the rebuild. A lil about my past cars, i had a 95 Saturn pushing 27lbs on a gt25/To4s, a 95 civic hb, with a gsr swap, and nitrous. Anyhow, im excited to start with a new awd project, that will soon become my shop project car undergoing a complete rebuild from the ground up. :thumb:

51psi -Stock=42psi on my particular year Any more fuel pressure than that, it was fouling out plugs. You guys have to remember your used to dealing with turbo cars, that have every accessory in the world available. The company who built my kit (which there is a link above for any non believers) takes great pride in the kits they build, and making them run on very simplistic setups.

Ok, so you were running higher than stock fuel pressures. That helps to explain why you sort of had enough fuel.

Just FYI, the GT25R is a TINY turbo. It's about the same size as a T-25 that you would find on a 2g DSM.

Interestingly enough, it also can't make more than 21 psi. I have the Garrett catalog right here in front of me, and I'm looking at the compressor map.

The most power that turbo will make is like 240 whp, and that's REALLY pushing it.

27psi was on pump gas yes. Did we run it on this for any period of time? NO. Here and there.

And you blew up the motor, which means that the fact that you ran 27 psi is totally worthless. I can run 50 psi on my car, if you want to talk that way.

32lb injectors, are a very LARGE upgrade from stock

Stock injectors are 24 lb/min, right? If so, then 32 is NOT a "very LARGE" upgrade. That's only 33% bigger, which is like...not much at all.

Every aftermarket turbo car I tune (Honda's, mostly) has injectors that are about twice as big as stock. None of them can even think about running 27 psi, they are maxing out the injectors at close to 12 psi.

So why does it change from 27 to 12? WTF If you are so good at tunning then why not tune for the 12lbs and then retune for the 27 lbs. The newer AFC will store 2 tunes.

I check again and there isnt even a metion of turbo kits. There is a pic of a maifold for a Saturn but no kits. Perhaps someone else could check it out and report back.

We doubted it and you said you did it but then all the munbers changed and still are. If he loves people who doubt his work then have him sign up here too.

ROFL do you read his posts or just flame him he lcearly states that he only ran 27 psi once in awhile to spin the tires or maybe he was trying to blow up the engine, he never ran 27 for a long period of time, at the track he ran it on 12 psi of boost. Its all in the post READ before you flame him damn. I checked out the site too though i see no turbo kit links either. its not like that i dont believe you didnt run 27 psi i just dont believe you ran 27 without destroying the internals.

Thank you to you guys who know how to read :thumb:

As far as the thinking it didnt blow out the internals. Like i said i ran a forged bottom end. Its not that the bottom end couldnt have been destroyed. You have to put it to theory. The weakest part will obviousely give first. In my case the weakest point was the head bolts. At the time i assembled the motor ARP didnt have head stud kits. Now they do.
As far as the site, click on the links at the top for the different motors. They are there, i checked.

Your correct, but at the same time wrong. If you read my post you'll understnad why we went with the injector we did. Also, your right a straight gt25 will not support overly high horsepower ratings. You might also want to factor in the wheels, and compressor which all make a difference. I have the a/r's wheel sizes and other info. Am i going to give it out? No. For the simple reason i was asked not to when the kit was designed, because it was designed for competition. The one A/R i will give is the compressor, which was .70.

Anyhow, im glad to be here, and ready to work on this new beast

alright man well dont be a dumbass and add to the dsm unreliable theory. Dont boost over 15 psi on stock shit. Since you have alot of monay id reccomend buying a 6 bolt off the trad or the parts for sale, and build it with forged internals and port the head, if you want to run 27 psi, then after you put the built 6 in sell the stock 6 bolt on here. thats what id do if i had like 1 grand laying around and my own house and garage and engine stand.

haha no worries. Im actually working with a buddy i have from buschur racing, on the build up for this new motor. Thanks!

Yeah I read it and I dont need your instructions on how to post. It doesnt make any sense to run 27 psi on a turbo that is way to small and then claim he had a 27 psi motot on pump. That was my point. We have enough people doing dumb things and blaming it on the car, we dont need more. Apparently he has a friend at Bucher so he will have a fire brething monster soon enough.

Have fun.

You think it can't be done? If the motor is built proporly, then even with 10:1 compression, it could handle it. Obviously not as long as if it had 9.5:1.

What are the specs on a gt25 t04 turbo?

I think you mean properly. I think that what he did is possible but as you can read the engine was damaged in the process. :thumb:

damn this guys an idiot, go back to ur saturn forum

10:1 compression running 27psi hahahah

just a fyi, 32lb injectors are around 350cc, thats enough to make like 200-250hp max

i have 660's and they about 60lb/min injectors, so howabout you get a clue before you open your mouth

12-15psi is about the limit for a 10:1 motor, and i doubt u could run anything higher then 12 without racegas

In my personal opinion I would not trust anyone from twisttec to even touch my car. I live 20 min from twisttec(20 min from buschur also) and went up there the other day. There were to guys there and I started talking about what I should do to my car and they didn't even have there shit right. One guy told me one thing and then the other would correct him and they went back and forth like neither had the same info whole time I was in there. I also know someone that had some work done there and they said they have had all kinds of problems with twisttec and there turbo setup. :talon:
