new to DSM ! And need Help on fuel problem

Hi guys. I just got an 90 talon Auto tranny (no turbo) yesterday for $200. The problem is i can not start it yet.I got spark i gor some pressure on fuel filter outlet port(means i unscrew it while the key was on on position). I noticed that fuel pump is always running when i remove the return hose going out at fuel pressure reg. fuel comes out very slovly(on ignition on). If i spray carb cleaner in the intake manifold the car starts (on cleaner) and dies after couple seconds. What is the pressure i should be getting ,where. Any suggestions My best bet is fuel pump. i allready gor a new fuel filter i will put in today.

No i have not. But today i try to pressure check the fuel pump but i have no pressure. So i ordered 190 welbro fuel pump. I will install that and see what will happen. What is the deal with caps? More info please.

The fuel pump only runs while cranking or while the engine is running, not when you turn the ignition on.

The capacitors in the ECU leak and damage the ECU causing various problems including not keeping the fuel pump running after you release the starter.

Here is some update. I removed the kick panel to see the ecu. I saw that some modofocation to the fuel injection contol relay. There is a switch installed on top of the radio and some cables runing to wire harnes of the relay and a ground cable to chasis. When i disconnect the ground i heard relay clicking(ven with no key in ignition). so i will try to remove the extra cables and stuff. I had voltahe at fuel pump when i crank but i do not have any ges at fuel filter(put new one today). So i will still install the new pump. And see. And i will remove the ecu and check for the caps anyway.

You guys are awesome! I toke the ecu out opened up two of the big caps are all leaked all over the place. And i think it was like that for some time now. Because someone try to make a bypass to fuel pump relay. This picture is taken after being washed with alcohol.

I went to 2 junk yards in chicago are today saw 25 1g 's and only found 2 ecus and they were both 1.8L s.
Is the ecu different for manual tarnny? I got 8624 on the side. And somehow the ecu had Mitsubishi emblem on it even though the car is eagle.( ! )
Ps: the ecu i had in the car was not the original it was from a junk yard.

Here we go. After going to 4 difirent junk yards(and going in 43 90-94 talon-eclipses) and calling 9 illinois junk yards i could not find anythink. And went national with junkyarddog.com .After almost 2 weeks i got a ecm for $190. I pluged it ,2 cranks and car starts. You guys are super. thanks a lot for the tip.even dough the ecm looked great inside it smels so i got the caps from ebay and i will install it when i got them.

Got caps off Ebay? That seems kinda risky to me, I would've saved the chance and just ordered them from machv.com for like 5 bucks. But best of luck to ya.

The guys on eBay are usually selling the same caps as MachV and what I use.
