Hello every one. I have a 93 eagle talon base model. I'm looking to convert it over to an awd 98 gsx eclipse. I know its going to be a big project so any help would be great. I have done alot of homework for this build. But my only main problem is finding a motor and parts car to start it. I would like a new motor to start the build but would settle for a used one. I also need to know how to make it awd. Any ideas or suggestions would be helpful. Thank you for taking the time to read this post and I look foward to helping anyone I can. I'm used to working on Neons so this is a big change for me. Thank you.

I suggest using a 6-bolt engine out of a 89-92, and getting a drive train out of a later model 1G. If you try to put a 2G motor and drive train in the parts are going to be very expensive and you will have to do some fabricating to make every thing fit. Or you could find a GSX for a thousand dollars.

i know it sounds crazy but I love to work on cars. I just want to see if I can do it. !! I'm going to start on it this summer and it will more than likely take me a couple years of playing with. I'm going to fiberglass the interior and do cutom body work. Call me crazy, but it will be fun.

Yeah seriously just buy a 2g.

Use the search button there are 5 thread a week on here that tell you how to do a turbo conversion.

You are gonna need lots of money, time, parts. IMO not worth it, just sell it and buy a turbo one or a awd one.

This thread tell you how to do an awd swap on a 2g. 98% of the people that read this are going to tell you to get an awd to start with and your crazy. Basically an awd swap on a 2g can be done, you just really need a parts car(hard to find). I have read that an awd swap on a 1g is a lot more difficult and requires a lot more custom fabrication. I'm not telling you not to do it, but go look under a 1g and a 2g and see what your working with before you go buy a parts car, motor, etc. and realize this was more than you were expecting.

Its not worth spending a couple thousand dollar and later on the resale value is gonna be really low. Even with the mods in there that you've put in. Its better off selling it and buying a turbo awd car instead, and spend the money on the other car. I know you want to start a project but as stated above, you'll need A LOT of money, and time.
