New to dsm and ready to build

Hello everyone! I am new to dsm's/turbo vehicles, and sort of new to the site ( been researching everything for some time now here). First things first, my names jordan. And i do not YET have a dsm( trying to find the one). Before i buy any kind of vehicle i have to do my research so thats what i have been doing. I plan on buying the most stock 1st gen talon/eclipse turbo/awd/5 speed i can find. I have been researching and trying to learn as much as i can, so with this thread i would like to post everything i plan on doing to my dsm after i find one and see what you guys think of my mod list. ANY comments, helpful tips, or any kind of info will be GREATLY appreciated. So with all my research this is what i plan on doing ( unless you guys have any other ideas or brands to help make for the best car)

First things first- All maintenance
Should i put a new headgasket and hardware in during maintenance? if so what brand headgasket would you recommend? Will use ARP headstuds.

Thats about all i can think of as of right now.. I am sure i am missing some stuff. If you think that i chose the wrong brand/size of something just let me know. Anything with a ? please recommend a brand/size or advise. Anything i left out please say something, or if theres something i should add or something that is not needed. Any links to a certain product would be greatly appreciated also. Like i said i am just trying to make sure i know what im looking at before i start buying stuff. I left the tranny out as my buddy will help me figure that out .

What shock/coilovers would you guys suggest? For looks, and performance.

How much boost could/should i saftley run on a setup like this, Just a street car. (hopefully a quick one)

How much power would you estimate i would push with all the parts listed and on the recommended boost pressure?

Once again i appreciated all the help/comments/tips/advice i can get. If i sound like a noob on some stuff.... well its cause i am Thanks

Id stay away from the safc. If you can budget it get ecmlink.

ECM Link is $545 then u need to get your ecu socketed or another ecu that is socketed to use it. if u get yours socketed its $45 for a eprom and $95 for a non eprom converted to eprom and socketed i believe. dont qoute me on the prices just go to Ecmlink.com and you can see what it is and how much for sure it will cost u..

Edit: it is simple to hook up u just plug your ecu back in like normal and plug the cable they provide into the diagnostic port and your laptop.

Sounds like a good investment...does it have.launch control and stuff like that? And how hard is it to tune yourself? Never tuned anything before) ot should i let someone else do it? Thanks

yea it has antilag you can see what all you can control with it on their website... you could learn the program or have someone tune it for you. there is alot of info on these forums and if u purchase it you will be able to use the forums on ecmlink.com aswell for info and help if u tune yourself. i will be purchasing it here soon and gonna attempt to tune my car myself with some help from the forums.

You'll have an internal wastegate on that 16g, I'd get an aem wideband, bov I your choice I'm sticking with a 1g flange on my fmic I'm getting from vrsf that way I can run the stock bov until I get my new one from extreme that has a 1g flange I think it's forged performance or something like that. As far as cams I'd go with kelford 272 also get their valve springs and aem adjustable cam gears. Also I would get bigger injectors in case you decide to really turn up the boost or get a bigger turbo in the future. I'm running a full 3in turbo back exhaust I love it and I have a nxs mbc it has a lifetime warranty

The best mod you could do to your car is ECM Link on speed density with a wideband. Build from there.

How uch boost could i run on that 16grim witg the 650ccone inectors? (Somewhay safly) and also what brand exhaust/downpipe do.you have ir is it.custom? Thanks
