OK, I need new tires bad and I have a buddy that work at Tire Rack so I should be able to get the hook-up. The size I'm getting is 225/35-18. I've pretty much narrowed it down to these three.

1st pic - Goodyear Eagle F1 GS-D3
2nd pic - BFGoodrich g-Force T/A KDW 2
3rd pic - Yokohama Parada Spec-2

Feel free to vote on the pole and please comment on these 3 only and only if you have used them before. They are all relatively close to the same price. I'm leaning toward the BFG's, but tell me what you think.

I love Goodyear. I even love the way the tread looks. Put the goodyears on and park with your front wheels slightly turned to the left. It looks sooooo good :thumb: . But i have no idea on how either compairs to the other performance-wise :thumbdown .

My gf has the Goodyear F1s on her Z4. They are great tires, extremely sticky and pretty low road noise. They are better by leaps and bounds over her stock run flats.

If you want, my buddy has an extra set of the F1 GS-D3s, brand new, never mounted in 225/40/18 if you're interested. Hes asking for 600 + actual shipping firm.

Like I said, I got a hook-up. Those will only run me $520 plus no shipping charges. I just have to make the decision. Thjanks for the input and thanks for the offer. :thumb:

I know they aren't on your list but I would consider the Bridgestone Potenza SO-3 Pole Position Tires. Tire Rack has them, and you got the hook up so look into them.

I've got the BFG g-Force T/A KDW. Incredible traction even in the rain. I've also gotten a lot of compliments on the looks. One word of caution the KDW's are not rated for snow. Its snowing now, so soon I'll get to see if the awd makes snow driving possible or if I have to park the Laser :laser: and drive the Trailblazer.

By the way there is a shop in Wichta KS that I bought mine from. They stock a huge amount of BFG tires and I got mine for $99 each. Better price than The Tire Rack. I don't know if they would ship or not but PM me if you want the #.

Yeah, I definitely did consider them. If I had a fourth on my list, it would be those. They are a little more expensive and Tirerack's stock on them is low, but they look like quality tires. :dsm:

Careful there.. you are going to want 225/40/18 to avoid speedometer issues.. plus you will have les wheelgap heh. 225/35 is a bit too small compared to stock.

agreed: 22/40/18 is .8% difference in diameter. plus the "35" will give a smaller sidewall=harsher ride, possible bent rim. the parada spec 2 are a great tire for the price(~150 ea), i have them on mine and they work great. awesome grip in the dry, ok in the wet (don't really 'run' the car in wet with my setup). however, the g-force are probably the best grip wise but are a softer compound to get the grip_wear out faster. and goodyear to me sucks_great grip, but the compound is so soft they wear out in no time (went through a set in about 6-8 months).

I've been using that size for 3 years on 2 different vehicles. I's been great so far. I love the look of the thin rubberband tires. :thumb:

PS - I've never bent a wheel either.

i bent a wheel once.. driving about 60mph into a curb and flying into a ditch about 12ft deep in my RX7 LOL.. but thats another story. yeah those cars in the movies that do jumps ... thats so fake.. they pop into the air.. and fall like bricks in real life..

just get some pirelli 9700 directionals or some toyo proxies. those are the best tires ive felt/seen. :dsm:
I have Toyo Proxes on there now. They were good as far as tire wear, but I am looking for something stickier. Like I said, I'm going to get one of the three above. :dsm:

BFG g-Force T/A KDW :thumb: Best tire I have ever used and people always seem to comment about the tread pattern.

I have the spec 2's on my 19's and love them, they have that "slick" look to them but grip of an all season. Amazing tire! one of the few name brands that come in 19" that isn't for an SUV. :thumb: (P.s.) have the A520's (discontinued) on my daily, lasted a long long time! 3rd season with them on. )

Those werent an option because of their price. The sale price is $199 each. I'm looking to spend less than $150 per tire. :thumb:

I think you are thinking about the avs sport, the avs es100 is 141 advertised price on tireracks site. I know with my discount I get a few bucks of those prices so say 130 a tire for you. The avs es100 has got to be hands down one of the best tires I have ever had on my car. Great dry traction not only in a straight line but cutting turns, good wet traction, and they last a long time. I would recomend those tires over the three you have suggested.

Sounds and looks like a pretty nice tire and the price looks good too. Only downside is that they dont offer tham in my size. 215/35-18 or 225/35-18.......

And Yes I do want a 35 profile. I am set on that. I dont want to go back to a 40 profile.
