Ok so everyone bolts their turbos on, that was my fault. Sorry!

So Dave, when you gonna let someone who knows how to drive take your down the track? If you ran an 11.9, that means with someone else behind the wheel it should do a 9.00...hahahahahahahahahaha

Dave, what clutch have you been using with the 4G64? how is it holding up? and would it make a good street clutch?

Thanks,

and once agian, good job on the car :thumb: (not so much the times)

Matt give me a call when your car breaks into the high 12s on race gas  Something tells me that if I give you another two years you still wont beat my pump gas traps from last year (117). They do have AA chapters for people that are addicted to haterade. Seek help man before its too late.

I am using a twin disk clutch that Hesspower.com sells. We are probably the only two people in the US that are using them. It uses sintered bronze disks and a 1600lb pressure plate. You can slip that clutch all day long and not only will it never glaze it will just grip harder. I went with this setup because using a ACT2900 and replacing the clutch disk every 50 passes isn’t very appealing.

On the streets it’s a little grabby so you need to rev it up a bit more that I had to with my 2600 but its NOTHING like my 4 puck clutchbastards setup. The CM setup was either on or off there was no slip. This one slips real nice. Then there is the fact that the pedal pressure is lighter than stock so its super easy on the street.

Yeah some people get really caught up with how bad the time was. It was my first pass in over 9 months and my first pass at the track with that setup. I just bogged no big deal. Get me a couple of passes on a grudge night at the track and I’m sure I will be cutting 1.7s again. I’m really not too worried about it.

How many passes have you made on that clutch? How much is it?

Countless pulls on the street but only ONE pass at the track so far. Wes has about a dozen passes on his. The clutch runs about 1200 bucks. That is a lot but when you compare it to an ACT/Findanza setup and the additional RR costs my clutch will pay for itself in two seasons of heavy use on a big hp car.

DAMN!.... and your complaneing about thoughs numbers with 93 octane on a day like that with a crapy tuned engine?!?!?!

If i were you I would get some propane injection going on in that thing, some C16, more boost of corse and some time tuneing... god....

all this talk is makeing me wonder why ppl still build the 4G63 if the 4G64 is so much better (at least the ppl that can afford it) im going to come into alot of money in a few months and now you got me wondering should i go all out on a 4G63 or 4G64?

yeah Dave, I guess you got me there, my car will never be as fast as yours... but then again i never drove off the end of the track either! Good luck, and keep remembering to step on those brakes at the end of the track!

I guess you consider that clever unfotunately it just comes off as desperate. Nice try though :thumb:

Hey dave that car you have, is that the same one that Mike K owned that ran 12.20 and didn't have half the stuff you have done to it now?

Yeah Mike did a 12.20@114 with a pretty good 60 ft on 110 leaded on a cool night at 25lbs of boost. I did a 11.9@126 with a crappy 60 ft at 21lbs on 93 octane on a 100 degree day. If you cant see the difference then there is nothing I can do. Like I said before if I can get the same 60fts I was getting last year I will be hitting mid to low 11s on pump gas and probably high mid 10s at 133+ on c16. Can you say that you are putting down almost 500hp to the wheels on pump gas? Or do you just sit on the sidelines and put down other's accomplishments?

Dave, I am very impressed with your time. Others like to hate, I know you hate on me with my bolt on but I deal with that:) You just get that biatch tooned and you will have everyone in awwweeeeee!

You must have the biggest head in the world. Who is hating? I asked a question and response was hostile. Maybe I do watch on the sidelines waiting for a day I can bring out a car that will be quick enough to compete, but for now I will wait. You didn't even build your car so who are you trying to put down. Wess this and Wess that, I know him pretty good and I am alittle surpised that he can walk with your head so far up his ass. So sorry to tell you that no one is hating on you, I'm just sorry no one else knows you like everyone around here does.

Agreed only those who have attempted to put a decent setup together can really appreciate what it takes to put the types of numbers rdrKt has already made. There is no doubt that this car is capable of much MUCH more. Making HP and putting up big numbers is not as easy as logging onto your favorite dsm site and looking at times VS mods.

Yeah right. You registered on Tuners just to ask me that question. Its tone was obvious. Don’t play it off like you weren’t trying to be a dick.

Yes you wait and you make snide remarks about other accomplishments. Its much easier to sit and put down others than attempt to go out and do stuff.

Im not trying to put anyone down. You came on here trying to make funny remarks to get a response and you did. EVERYONE here knows I don’t turn my own wrenches. Honestly who cares? I spent the money and got the results. How many people locally have started projects only to have them go nowhere?

Again trying to be funny  Wes is my friend he is the best DSM mechanic you are ever going to meet. He is one of the top 13 fastest in the WHOLE country. To me that is success.

Ok so you came here and registered why? Same thing with azteck2. I’m pretty sure the only reason he is here is to try and give me a hard time. How is having nothing but bad to say not hating?

People know me here just fine. I’m not a mechanic nor do I play one on the internet. I am here to try and help people when I can. I’m 23 years old. Sometimes I screw up again who cares? What does this have to do with this thread? How is bringing up stuff this off topic not hating? All I’m doing is sharing my results. I don’t have a swollen head I am just enthusiastic about how well the car is doing.

I hope this doesn't get locked... I really like reading what others have done with their car, specifically the ones as done up as rdrkt's. I don't have a problem at all with him posting progress. I can see to some it may seem as showing off but how often can you read about someone putting together a setup that can put down 500 to the wheels on a 4 cylinder engine. OMG That's just plain COOL! :thumb:

Not putting down what you've done, but how do you know your car is putting down 500hp when your has car never been on a dyno? When are you going to get it dynoed it BM Tranny? I only know of two AWD DSMs that put down 500hp on their dyno, so your car would really be something special to put down 500hp on 93 octane pump gas at 21psi of boost.

I am estimating. But it’s a fairly good estimate. You take a 3200lbs DSM running 126 traps and do the math. It comes out to around 470hp. I would like to eventually get over to BM tranny but its pretty far away for me. For now I will just let the MPH be an indicator of the HP I’m making.
