Haven't been on here in awhile but just picked up a 98 gst 89k original miles. Guy just put a newer short block in because the old one spun a bearing he said. Picked it up thru a trade because he gut fed up with it couldn't get it running. I went to go get it and he just got it running but its got a tick in the topend so today I check the timing and its a tooth or to out. I'm hoping to put it in time this weekend and be in luck with no bent valves. Its got a 16g Turbo fmic and full exhaust he just bought and put on. Timing belt is the one thing I haven't tackled on these cars but done them on others. This was the first dsm this guy had ever messed with so I'm sure I got a few more kinks on it to work out if I could post pictures from my phone I would but it want let me

Good luck with the kinks. One mans junk is another mans treasure! What kind of 16G does it have?

Thanks. My luck the 16g is probably an eBay one. But if it lasts me for awhile I'm good with it.
