When driving and coming to a stop i pull out of gear into neutral. The rpms drop to 2k but won't go lower. Then i give the gas pedal a quick tap and it goes back to the normal 900 i have it set at. It's not too bad just a little irritating. Can you guys give me some info on what causes this and how to fix it? Thank you.

I was thinking that or tb maybe needing a clean.
I hated that problem on my old gst. Any chance you have a wideband? With it, you could tell by letting off the gas in gear and see if it zeros out like - - - which is normal. If not your throttle line is getting stuck. It has to be either throttle cable or tb/gasket worn.

I just got a rebuilt throttle body from Steve Monroe at throttlebodys.com they do the best work on Mitsubishi throttle bodies like ours. there's actually a lot going on in those little throttlebodies. I had the same intermittent issue on a 2g dsm and it was the throttle cable not seating correctly in the hole. Like the little ball was not flush and this caused it to hit the rubber vacuum line on the back side. It could also be iacv coils getting stuck.

I had the same issue, it would stick and I would have to tap the gas to have the idle drop back down, I ended up lubing the throttle cable but didn't work and ended up changing it with the whole assembly and it fixed that problem

Well started off checking the simple solutions. I sprayed some teflon lubricant on the wheel that the throttle cable guides along by firewall. Solved my problem instantly and took about 30 seconds. Nice.

You can always try cleaning the throttle body from dirt or corrosion then lube all the moving parts, if that dose not work run line oil to see if it is catching somewhere along the inner layer of the cable, if this still dose not fix the problem replace the cable itself, as the inner layer could be pinching the wire.
