New intake manifold?

Anyone got one of these? will they match up to a 420 and are they even worth my time?

I personally wouldnt trust a $100 intake manifold where most are upwards in the couple hundred dollar category. You do not know the integrity of the welds and that could make or break your car.

I thought that too, but being as it is the only one i could find on ebay i figured i would just ask.

It looks like an OBX knock-off. It says something about the state of the economy when there are knock-offs of knock-offs. Even though the OBX version wasn't known for its craftsmanship, it still looked better than this one.

Edit: Whoops, wrong side. An EVO VIII manifold might reverse that problem

Sure? No, I just can't see anyone else trying to fab up an intake and look exactly like the OBX. They don't take credit for it as one that they made and......well, I just went back and compared the two back and forth. The one I have is different on the plenum. No big weld marks across the floor on the sides. So I think you may be right.

Let me ammend that statement; Just like OBX.

So to the OP, you can probably get the "real thing" (, OBX as the real thing. BTW, OBX is a knock off of Venom) for about the same money.

They did it to the Treadstone manifold, which is a copy (I don't want to say knock-off because it's actually a really good manifold) of the Star/Turbonetics manifold. Sellers on eBay are really unbelievable sometimes...

I would say do not buy it. I have a Venom just like that and i have spent a lot of money on getting it ready to bolt to my car. Fuel rail does not bolt up.i had to retreaded the holes for the throttle body and I had to resize the sensor holes with larger npt taps. Honestly it is a hassle for the very little hp gain. Plus MAKE sure there are no holes where the brackets are welded on to mount the fuel rail. I spent $50 alone on filling pin holes at a place where they cam weld aluminum. So I would say please think about it, before you buy it.

that is the WORST looking manifold i have ever seen, including that stupid thing that third grader welded together for his header out of autozone ducting. You know the one that is all over the forums. Anyway please dont put that on your car.

I personally thought it looked like sh*t also, i dont know much about them but i had enough common sense to know if its 80 bucks its horrible and yea it does look like it is held together by solder. Anyone wanna point me in the right direction for a half way decent one?

+1 on the welds. But if it flows better than stock and provides power gains I would go with it. It is a low stress application so safety is not an issue and the price is right.
