New Head Gasket Leaks?!?!?!

I had my head rebuilt by a local machine shop. I bought an advance auto fel-pro head gasket. I cleaned the deck of the block of debris from the old HG. I put the gasket on, being held in place by 2 (water holes?) pipes in opposite corners. I tightened the new fel-pro head studs to the specs in my manual theat doesn't really explain much. I tightened in proper order, 58 ft-lbs with my torque wrench. Then a complete loosen/backoff. Then 15 ft-lbs. then 1/4. and then another. Had a friend do my timing, which was perfect. I ran it for 5 minutes. Then went to advance to get water and oil. filled up the fluids and.....water gushes out the back of my head?!?!?!?!?!? DEVASTATION! Did the HG slip out of place or do I need to retorque??? I drove with no compression on #2 for about thirty days with #2 injector plug pulled. Still faster than most I've driven. help.....

did they resurface the head when u got it rebuilt, and did u make sure u didnt maybe pinch a wire between the head and block. ive been this happen many of time.

Did you torque your head in the correct order? Just a thought...

Also a wire or something could be sitting on the block between the head causing leakage.
If it looks clear from wires, I'd ensure that the head was resurfaced as that would indicate some warping to leak badly..

The back of the head where??? Exhaust side or intake side?

If it's GUSHING out it isn't your head gasket.

Did you remember to hook up all your waterpipe, thermostat, TB, and heater core hoses?

3 years later... Can mark as (RESOLVED)... Put HG on backwards. Didnt want to post but had to close out. New gasket flipped did the trick. It was back of head on cam side. Only one head bolt didnt want to thread easily. Shouldve realised then. First DSM on all four cyl was amasing.

P.S. Didnt take 3 years to figure out. Only a few days.

TSi is gone. I like to save them from "kids" who abuse them. Fix em and bring on the next. I enjoy broke cars. Got a 98 GST Spyder i'm reviving now. 124k miles Bought for $360.
