hey guys well since i need my car to go to school and work i needed to do something quick i couldent wait untill i found an engine and droped it in. ok so i took my head to a machine shop and they said it was warped but they couldnt mill it because it was milled alot aready so there was not much room so i cleaned it up real good and the block and put an mls head gasket with arp head studs. did the timing belt and water pump. do you guys think it will hold for a while ??? tell you the truth i look at with with a straight edge and it didnot look that bad.i need some opinions can i boost at all??

I really doubt it. Every mls head gasket i've seen that the head and block surfaces weren't perfect on leaked. You probably would have been better off getting a stock head gasket. They can't handle as much power but the head and block surfaces don't have to be nearly as perfect. Good luck though and i hope it does hold for you.

You would have to go back to stock for the gaskets. I just got over that with my head gasket, it was an after market gasket, it claimed to be the best, yeah, the best rip off!! And it blew of course, one thing that these cars need are the stock gaskets, eventhough they can't handle as much, they still are a perfect fit for all your needs. trust me, i spent a lot of money on that, i wont do that again...... ever......

Mitsubishi ML HG should be fine. It should be fine and hold up well more than most of us will ever see.

Yea I had to rush mine as well I never got time to get the block decked, but my head was:sosad: so only time will tell untill I get a blown head gasket!:sosad:

What gasket did you use? Cometic, Mitsubishi multi-layer metal head gasket, or something else? I have a cometic head gasket on and I've been running 25 psi on it with no problem. What condition was the surface of the block and head? Did you use ARP studs, or reinstall the factory bolts? What about copper spray?

I don't want to down your mechanical skills, but when using aftermarket head gaskets (except for Felpro, they do suck), a flat block and head surface, ARP studs, and copper spray are a must, otherwise it won't seal properly.

dam well i installed it without copper spray. i did not know it was needed with that gasket well i now had it on for about 3 or 4 day and i put about 300 miles on it already. and its holding till now. thinkin about putting myu thermostat back on . any opinions?? and i'm on the market for a 6 bolt so if any one can point me in the right direction or has any info it will help thanks

well kind of close to 1000 miles now and still holding pretty good i even boosted a few times by mistake. well thanks for all your help once again
