New gauges, what do you think?

whats up tuners. I used to be a vendor on here but i had to finish a prototype before I could come back and offer something. I came up with something a little more simple that would show some of our capabilities.

The top two pictures are of our new 52mm color screen gauges. now dont jump to conclusions and think there only for looks. I used the color screens for a good reason. Needle gauges are easy to judge but you have to look closely to see the exact number. With color screen gauges you can glance at the gauge and check its color. If its green its good, yellow watch your vitals more closely, if its red the value is in the danger zone and engine risks damage. The numbers can be very large or you can have the screen emulate an analog style gauge, and it does it very smooth with no delay at all!
All I want to know is if you guys would be interested in something like this when i produce it. Does it look sick or what!?

The bottom pic is a peek at whats to come from spultronix performance ;)

Top one looks a bit too big if its just an lcd screen

Thanks everyone. None of my cameras are high quality. The pod gauges have a very nice screen and actually have very good resolution. Oled makes a big difference, I was suprised. The pods also have 10 bit analog coverters for very good accuracy. fits in any 52mm pod or cluster.

The MPU's (bottom picture) are being designed right now. You can actually add a third screen to that setup! haha

If you guys are interested in the MPUs i can make a batch of prototypes but they arent cheap. And they take quite some time.

The 52mm gauges are 229.99$

pm me if you guys interested. If i get quite a bit interested ill become a vendor again

Interesting for sure. I really like the bottom one. What's the price tag on something like this? And how soon will u have some up for sale.

If you wanted a mpu right now... It would cost upward of 1500$. I dont really feel comfortable producing one just yet. They might be ready before 2013.

Interesting. How do you calibrate the colors/warnings?

I like the bottom set as well, plus it would be nice if it could log multiple things or maybe allow "ports or connections" so you can install existing gauges into your item so everything is on one screen. This way you dont have to be looking at 10 spots for gauges and stuff.

There are three colors I program in the gauge for warning purposes. Green = sensor value is within spec and normal. Yellow means that it is rising and a little out of its range. Red = danger / warning (water temp too high, boost spike, low oil pressure, etc)

What about intagrating a board to a 3 inch tft display to read whatever you want?Like for logging with an sd card, then have the tft, display many things?

This side of the MPU shows the three ports for sensors. This particular one had 7 internal analog inputs and 8 external analog inputs 4 of which were powered so you could hook up aftermarket sensors, the second port was for the 8 digital inputs. The 7 internal sensors were acceleration, gyro-meter, and battery voltage. the accelerometer can sense body roll, braking, and launching G forces. everything was ment to be displayed on the two screens you saw in the first post. also there is a serial port on the third port that allows you to monitor sensors in real time using a serial monitor. also in the third port is the rpm input and 2 digital outputs shown in the home video at the bottom.

This picture below shows the two quick release connectors for the screens, and the sma connector for the antennae that attaches to the best in class 20 Hz gps module  used for speed, tracking, and time.

here I use an out put to control a boost solenoid off a 1g eclipse.

This would be cool. Totally eliminate the 1g cluster and build a digital dash like this. Awesome.

I might have been unclear...

How does one set the thresholds specific to their setups? If I run this gauge, I'd need a MUCH less aggressive threshold than I would have in the old DSM.

I am partial to a black face with an orange needle so they arent my cup of tea but it looks like you do nice work. Good luck with the business venture :applause:.

Sorry Lando, you are being a little unclear. Much less aggressive threshold? Such as boost control? Where the turbo starts to create positive pressure. Or are you talking about a threshold on the gauge setup? I dont understand

Thanks for the wishes idaho

Really cool. I think given the market though possibly make other electronics that aren't $1500. The gauges are cool for sure though.

The only reason I put that price was if someone wanted a handbuilt prototype. When in production they should be from 500-1500 depending on the options chosen. I will be making many other products as well. Such as the E-Gate.

I see what you mean kinda. To answer your question a little better; in the interface im going to put a scale so the user can adjust where each color starts and ends. So it would be up to you. Lets see what I come up with. Hopefully like I said ill have a few production models before 2013.

Now you got it. ;)

For my little old snail, I'd need red at 17psi, whereas 31psi may have been the red zone on the old turbo/car/setup.

Those are some clean looking gauges I love being able to swap through my several different parameters such as boost, fuel pressure, oil pressure etc all in one gauge it looks cleaner in my oppinion but I have had trouble with bad reads because it's all done electrically rather than mechanically.
Looks great though glad you finished you prototype
