is this even going to increase performance and in your opinion was the performance per dollar worth it.????
 
I would say the opposite. Supposedly JB weld is extremely resisitant to gasoline.

I just know that a some race teams use it in intake manifolds (fuel and air) and fuel tanks. Places that would have obvious fuel contact, and bad results if it were to fail.

I've not personally tried it so YMMV

This is some of the stuff that is required to have a 600awhp + car. He obiviously was worried about not having enough fuel with just one pump and wanted to remove the restrictions in the system.
 
this particular fuel setup is kind of what AMS is doing on the evos. It is the easiest to do(generally speaking) and probably the best way because u can keep your stock fuel level gauge and you do not have to sump the tank. Definitely the way to go for keeping your car truely streetable and still shoot for those magical numbers. Good job man. This is similar to what i will be doing in my 40R 2.4L setup.

I might offer this as a kit for the dsm guys in the future after i have completed my fuel system.
 
My fuel pump assembly does not screw on like that, it has a series of nuts around the edge holding it on. Will I still need a jam nut to clear them do you think? I am just trying to plan it out before I get in there.
You said that you had one jam nut on topside of the assembly and two on the bottom side. Maybe this will be self-explanitory once I take off the assembly and see how its put together but once you stick the 90* bulkhead through your new hole with a jam nut on the top side, and two at the bottom (why two?), what does it attach to on the other side?

Does the AN to Tube adapter seal the tube connection good enough? Doesn't it just push in there?

And I have an Aeromotive FPR, whats the best way to find out what size fittings are needed since apparently there are different ones?
 
11sec-gsx I am doing the same thing you are to my fuel pump assembly. I had a -8 tube bent to fit in where the fuel pump outlet is. I had my buddy take stock piece that the fuel pump went into weld it to my fuel outlet tube, then he welded that to the housing. Your are right about having to use a B nut for the top of elbow for the return line. You would not clear the pump retaining nut without it.

yeah, buddy. i did. you dont need two 255 fuel pumps to make a 600 hp car. hence why i was wondering. but i missed the part about not wanting to run an external fuel pump. either way those fuel pumps are goning to be pretty loud on a street car. At least the in line one will be.
 
I would love to see more pictures of the intank pump and plumbing. The only think I would be worried about not getting enough fuel to the pump side when the tank is 1/4 full. The GSX tank is very weird. I just decided to go with a fuel cell. That is very creative

I finished this but i never took pictures of the fuel pump assembly finished and modified after its final installation.

Do you have a incar fuel pressure gauge? From what I understand having both pumps triggered on all the time will even overrun the Aeromotive fpr.

Maybe it'll overrun a stock return line, but not the Aeromotive. Unless you're flowing more than 900 lph or so.

Wont 2 pumps like this, mess around with the fuel pressure?

I wanna do the same setup as I have a intank 255 and was looking forward to getting a Inline one as well (I already have -6an fuel lines)

If you have a good AFPR it won't mess with your fuel pressure. DSMs use a return system, so if worst case is it runs at too high of a fuel pressure, you can always upgrade the return line to flow more fuel.

Just for everyones information, when you do the calculations, and use a 20% safety margin (which many consider TOO LITTLE margin) A walbro 255 HP running at 65 psi (approx 23 lbs of boost with a 42psi base fuel pressure setting), the fuel pump will be maxed out at less than 500 hp... and that is crank horsepower, not wheel horsepower. (this is assuming an 11:1 A/F ratio as well.)

Now yes, many people have run more than 500hp on a walbro 255hp, but you're running the poor little walbro pump on the edge, and I'd prefer not to run ANYTHING on the edge in my car. Especially not the fuel pump. Anyone interested in the math just ask and I'll go through it.
 
Just making sure, the return line doesn't actually connect to anything on the tank side of the fuel pump assembly, just pours out into the tank?
