HI all,

I just recently replaced my Fuel pump with a Walbro 255, and some of us here have a problem with rust. What happens is the little neck/tube that we fight with to disconnect the fuel line with can get bent and out of shape and in some cases snaps compeletly off!!!! The Dealer usually asks for $500+ for a new sending unit and pump assembly but whats the use of that old crap pump?!?!?!?!...... Exactly there is no use for it so I did some research and found that par number for just the sending unit. MB542395 I hope this helps a few of us out. Especially the poor DSM'ers like me :D :talon:

i know this is an old post but can you find this part online for that price??? let me know if anyone has found one!

That part number comes up as a pump and gauge assembly. Is this the actual housing for the fuel pump ?

If not, does anybody know the part number to the actual housing for an AWD 1st gen. Thanks.

I haven't looked up this part number at all to make sure what it is, but on dsmparts.net it goes for like $33....
