New engine, lots of issues!

Alright, put a new motor in my 2g and finally got it running, well sort of.
When I turn it on it'll start right up but the vacuum on my boost gauge is at like 10 or less, when I try giving it some gas it'll get stuck and maybe rev to 1500ish rpms. The engine also vibrates pretty bad, something doesn't seem right, I checked the timing to make sure it was all dead on, but going to take it apart and check it again.

I get two codes, P0403 Exhaust Gas Recirculation Circuit, which I'm going to disable since I blocked off the egr, and P0100 Mass or Volume Air Flow Circuit Malfunction, not sure about that one.

Mods:
1g 7 bolt w/ evo 9 pistons, 2g head, stock headgasket
evo 8 maf
evo 8 ecu
evo 8 injectors
pte scm5027e
dejon intake
ic hardpiping
1g cas
etc... check profile

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks

Redid the wiring on the maf, code's all gone, but it still runs like crap. I'm wondering if it has to do anything with swapping the injector wiring at the ecu because I'm running the 1g cas on my 95.

RRE Instructions

I have it set up like how it's shown on that but didn't swap the injector trigger wires yet, think that could cause it to run so poorly?

It's like a brick wall at 1500rpms, my turbo will spool up to ~5psi when I hold it for a few seconds at wot.

Make sure timing is set correctly and I think you might have your plug wires in the wrong order.

In short yes it will because your injectors will be firing outta time causing a miss. It would be a easy place to start

Just because the chassis is a 95 doesn't mean you have to swap wires, it has to do with the ECU and CAS sensor you're using. If one of them is a 2Ga but not both, then you have to swap wires.

If you're using an Evo 8 ECU and any non-2Ga CAS, you shouldn't have to swap anything around. The injector and plug firing should be exactly the same.

I'm confused as to how this car even runs. Maybe the CAS is 180* out along with having the plug wires swapped?

Now, with all that said, the 1G CAS may be causing a random misfire since the Evo 8 ECU is going to demand a much more accurate signal. If you can easily get a fixed CAS from a 2Gb, I'd try using that.

It sounds like you have many different things going on here.

I swapped the plug wires back to how they would be normally, when I try starting it, the car wouldn't start, just pop really badly and shot a flame once, weird, I wonder how effective my ams high flow cat is. Also checked if the cas was 180 degrees out, it was correct.

Any other ideas? Anyone run an evo 8 ecu with a 1g cas?

Edit: Delta, you are correct, no wires need to be swapped, but the 1g cas can be used, and I'm using the black top sensor also, still looking through threads trying to figure it out, but here's the post if anyone wants things clarified.. http://forums.evolutionm.net/7378633-post130.html

I still don't understand why the car won't start with the plug wires in the correct order but it will when they're reversed, any ideas?

the pins for which side of the ignitor is fired is swaitched around sevela times through out the years on DSM's and Evo;'s I've had this problem pop up on stand alone installs before, and we simply swap the plug wires, or in one case swap the pins to the ignitor. if it will run with the plug wires on wrong then i'd just look at the pinout and i bet you find the trigger wires for 1&4 are swapped with the 1&3 respectivelyt to the year of car you're working on

Check for leaks at the injector seals and intake manifold. I forgot to put in new injector seals on my new head, the old ones were in the old head I shipped for a core charge:) Ran like crap and no vacuum...even the brakes wouldn't work right.
