2G New clutch still slipping

Been a while! Hey, did my first clutch job and everything went well. Clutch is still a little rough and smells when you gun it, still slipping a little.

Could a cracked flywheel be the culprit? I did not resurface the flywheel as planned, by the time I finished the clutch in my shop, the other place closed.

Flywheel is cracked but not super bad. Yes, it's difficult to give enough background without a photo, sorry. Did not adjust clutch pedal yet. No chattering, grinding, etc.

Hate to say it but you absolutely should've resurfaced the flywheel and verified the step height. These are critical things.

You have already provided the most likely reasons, an unresurfaced and cracked flywheel and unadjusted clutch pedal. As I've found out, there are no "yes, but except for that" answers in auto maintenance. Usually the answers you're looking for are staring right at you and the most likely ones.

You should also check the hydraulics. And did you replace the TOB and PP with quality ones?

Yes absolutely, new ACT PP and OEM TOB

If the clutch pedal is over adjusted like I see a lot of guys do to bandaid a fail to disengage clutch it'll act like you're riding the clutch pedal and slip. Had a few come in with the adjuster maxed out trying to get disengagement.

Clutch pedal slop almost certainly prematurely wore out my previous clutch and trashed the 1st-2nd synchros, hub and sleeve, requiring a complete trans rebuild. The consequences of incomplete clutch disengagement can be pretty serious. You need to address all these issues fairly soon or it'll just get worse. Certainly adjusting the pedal and hopefully resurfacing or replacing the flywheel.
