Hey guys. I am still having issues with this. I installed the symbroski shifter plate bushings, but it was still grinding some. Its strange because sometimes it goes right into gear and sometimes it only wants to go half way in and pop out. Its usually 1st gear, but it will occasionally do it in any gear. I have adjusted the cables per the VFAQ as well as tried making small adjustments to improve the shifting, but have had no luck there. I made two slave rods just to try and see if it was a travel issue. I made one that was about 1/8" longer and one that was just over 1/4" longer. I tried them both. It was slightly better that way, but right now I still have the longest one installed and it is still gringing gears.
Another thing that might be relavent to someone who knows a lot about these problems is when the car is running and parked. If I push the clutch in and put it in gear and then put it back in neutral, when I let the clutch out I feel a clunk that to me feels like slack in the drivtrain. I really dont know how to describe it but it makes me think that even in neutral the trans is still partially engaged. Or maybe when its in gear with the clutch in the clutch is still draggging and when I put it back in neutral and let the clutch out it is taking the load back off of the drivtrain? I know that sounds very confusing, but I don't know how else to explain it.
I do not think the fingers on the pp are being overextended, but how can I tell?
With the car off I don't really have any problem going through the gears.
I crawled back under the dash because I felt like I had not looked at the master cylinder close enough. I did find some fluid around the boot and on the firewall. Im going to price an OEM unit and see if that does anything for me.
