Hi im still a newbie at the dsm world. Im pretty good mechanic but i have no background in to dsm. I need help and someone with a little patience.

I have a decent base tune but im still trying to work some of the kinks out. It performs pretty well under boost. (13-15 psi) but anything after 5000 rpm my knock light comes on. Also it idles kinda rough and when i go to take off if its not over 1500 rpm it wants to die. ( 5 speed). And no its not me ive been driving manual for about 10 years. And help would be greatly appreciated

Also i have no clue if i should be running speed density or how to even convert it over

I would check for vac and boost leaks to get started. Stalling a lot of times with these motors is an air leak somewhere. IC coupler leaking, TB gasket leak, TB shaft seal leak, theres a bunch of stuff to check. Id hook up a boost leak tester charge the system via impeller opening to around your usual max boost and listen for leaks. Soapy water spray around joints to look for expanding bubbles caused by escaping air.
Personally whenever i have a stall, misfire, or knock the first thing i do before digging anywhere is started by doing a good old BLT (around the forum this means Boost Leak Test). If you don't have a tester I'd invest in one or make your own :thumb:

Ok where to start, well i have a boost/vac gauge in the car it idles around 18 vac.

Now for the mods its a 95 talon with a 99 eclipse powertrain. Its got a 99 eclipse black box ECU. Big evo 16g turbo. Tial wastegate. 550 rc injectors. Bigger intercooler. I think its about 2.5 inch piping. 3inch exhaust pretty much straight pipe with a tuner muffler. I would also assume that it has a bigger fuel pump. And i took a peak in the timing cover and found there no balance shaft belt for the front but previous owner does not recall if shafts were deleted. I also have a aem uego afr

Also emissions delete. (cel on) and i will upload a log from evo scan tomorrow.

What’s the history? Did you buy it this way or is this a new problem? Have you checked base timing?

Please fill out your profile. I’d recommend you double check to make sure you have an upgraded fuel pump.

I bought it with out being tuned i had to learn how to go through and base tune it. It has a manual aftermarket fpr and a fp gauge under the hood. It hovers around 40 psi i think then drop a couple psi when throttle is snapped and no getting history on this car is like damn near impossible he doesn't remember what has been done to it

Back when I had ECUFlash, I used the narrowband output from my wideband going into the Front O2 on the ECU, then logged AFR by plugging a serial cable from the wideband controller into my laptop. It was a pain in the ass but I don't think there are any mods to get the black box ECU to log AFR. At least doing it this way would log AFR in EVOScan, though.

Edit: Wideband in front O2 position. I honestly don't remember if I still had the rear narrowband plugged into the ECU or if I had that hole plugged in the exhaust.
