New alternator.. wierd result ?

and OP, if your car is a NA 4g63 it would be good under boost just not too much.
the only main diffrence is the knock sensor along with missing oil squirters and higher compression pistons.

All of which I've read about and it seems like they can be added anyway. You can run pretty low boost as it sits now and have some fun. Grab a 13G off of an A/T 1g do TONS of reading, maybe have a local DSMer help ya out and boom. (Hopefully not your motor going boom, but your pants instead.)
 
Well I was planning.on rebuilding the head, also fuel was on the list with a possible e85 conversion ( haven't looked TOO far into that ) some mild cams, I don't want to be revving to 3k to go 2 inches at a stop light. I know turbo is the way to go, but I just don't want to do it quite yet, because when I do, I wanna go all out, not a typical 3-500 whp build. That's a top secret tho. Also, I'm just here to get info on these cars man I saw your post you were sippin earlier so I assumed your blood alcohol level would make for an interesting thread.. haha.

From my understanding, the most important thing is when turboing these NAs is the tune that follows, because of the.... 11:1 compression I believe ? I love forced.induction trust me, but its something I wanna go all or nothing on.

Not sure how much your N/A car would like corn LOL.

There really isn't much you can do without adding a bit of boost. I would just run 5psi , grab some 390cc injectors/ at ecu and have fun.

id slap some 4g63t pistons and rings and call it a day, ofcourse along with the boost source!

Meh, the only squirter I need is in between my girlfriend's legs :D You know, I probably will convert to turbo just because..., but I would like to think of more then one option. I have a boxof 5(don't ask where the 5th came from , your guess is as good as mine ) pistons, ? An intake mani, oil pan, and a stock 14b with a cracked housing sitting in a basket that came with the car.. trying to sell it all cause i don't think I'll use any of it.
 
I'll take a piston and the 14b for pretty cheap. I'll throw it on my go-kart. PM me prices.
 
Thankfully man, I think I've grown out a bit of the whole rice stage, I'm more for a clean subtle look, something that people won't look at and go " bahh humbug.. street racers " Dress Blues get the ride goin just fine, aye aye sir LOL
 
I'm probably 1 of 2 1gs in my town and I get some awesome looks as I go through town. especially from honda people. Rock that 1g forever man. They really are champions.
 
You know.I used to be real big on just the 2gs, every 1g is saw I wouldn't even take a second glance at, but people who do know DSMs tend to respect the 1gs.
 
Jesus Christ there is a lot of useless posts on this thread.

Your alternators are most likely dying to a leak from the power steerg, or valve cover leaking and running down the power steering bracket.

Other problems that would cause it to die is faulty wiring and no heat shield on your exhaust.



About your NA rebuild... Don't. You aren't going to make a noticeable difference with out several thousands of dollars and more time spent than a turbo swap. You can typically boost a na for less than a grand.

Also don't start modding your engine with out the turbo. You run low comp pistons on turbo cars not high comp and cams depend on where you want your power band to be on different size turbos. With out having the turbo its a useless upgrade.

i got my 2g and once i realized their potential ive been trying to get my hands on a 1G soooo bad..

theyre so rare here in el paso, TX and the ones for sale are molested.

I want me a virgin so i could pop its cherry, just like i did to my 2g 4g63.

I traded my 420a for a poorly running 2g stock 4g63 awd dsm years ago which ended up being just a simple spark plug causing the miss fire.

poor guy i didnt even tell him
 
When I was at college looking for cars, I forced my roommates to go with me so I didn't get raped and we looked at a 2g with a body kit and it was 2-tone with a decked out interior and I looked at the TSi AWD and they were like get the other one man, its so much better.

Something happened as soon as I got behind the wheel of the 1g for the test drive. It was the moment I became a DSMer. I couldn't look away. Bought her on a sunday night in the college parking lot LOL.

Hence the big bold 'Resolved ' in the title. Thanks for the power steering info, now that you said that would you like to tell me how I would fix a leaking power steering ? Not Tryin to be an ass, but im just saying.
 
Do you have leaking power steering? The O-rings on the bolts for the lines can go bad and need replaced.
 
haha, the heat from the exhaust is what kills these bastards, along with the power steering fluid leaking and drowning out those things.

Oh would ya look at that.. how much are the o rings ? I have noticed my p/s leaking a bit. Guess ill do that tomorrow, what all is needed ?
