I just put in some new fic 750s the other day, and on my way to the track in Boise which is about 5 hours away I gave it a rough tune. The car ran rather well at the track but the trims were way off and I cant seem to get the low and mid trims to under 120%. But the WOT I can get to right close to 100%. At the track the first run went ok and I noticed a little bit of a hesitation just before over the line, but alot more hestitation on the second run. I also blew my dipstick on the second run and smoked all the way down the track. But I didnt notice that:coy: .

On the way back home my car has began to run really crappy at wot. It pulls pretty good in the lower gears but third at wot boggs alot and alot of black smoke comes out of the exhaust. I though it was rich so I tried leaning out the maft at wot and it did nothing much. It doesnt do this at about 3/4 throttle. and I dont really get more than 8 counts of knock. I am boosting 15 lbs at the moment. Also the afc is at zero. Most of the time I have 0-1 counts of knock. The new injectors got rid of alot of pk and hesitation in the stop and go driving. That was nice.

What are some suggestions. Oh I am also running ngk bpr8es plugs.

You shouldn't be using 750's with an safc, especially on a 91-94 turbo car, they have the most agressive timing maps. As for the smoke, it could be from burning oil or from a tuning issue. What are your safc settings? What is your fuel pressure?

This statement has confused me. The trims are not used at WOT, only in closed loop.

You mention that your AFC is set to zero, is there some other device/chip doing the injector compensation that you didn't mention in your post? If not, that is your problem. You're running about 40% too much fuel, which would put you roughly around 6:1 ;)

Sorry I have a maft. Yes the low and mid trims are above 120% and high is oround 100. But I did a leak test and had a couple leaks. So this could have been a problem. It feels super slow and smokes alot at wot, so I dont know my motor might just be on its last leg.

Well, I don't know exactly whats going on with your car, but tunning with just the MAFT sucks. I have my maft set at 720 with 5 idle. My injectors flowed 730-735 and they were fic750's. Then on my safc I'm zero'd at 1k, then I go up 6 for 3k low, then 8 for 3k high, then 4 the rest on low, and 5 for everything after 4k on high. I'm running a 190 pump with 93 octance. 5* btdc initial timing and I have no knock with 18psi.

Since you are using a logger, what is knock doing? are you watching O2 voltage at all?
