New 2g. Runs like CRAP

Long time lurker, first time poster. Recently acquired my first dsm. It's a 95 gst 5speed. Looks like the previous owner beat the crap out if it. Went out today and tried to get it running. First off, took me about 20 minutes on a charger to start it on a battery that was replaced last summer.. Starter was freewheeling as well.. Once it starts, it runs awful and won't idle on its own without light throttle. After about 2 minutes it'll idle on its own but very low. Around 500-600 rpm. Smells rich, has a safc2 which all fuel is cut 40% on low throttle. Same on high for the rpm range. (I just browsed them) I realize that the car has been sitting so I went to get some fresh 93 gas for it. Once I arrived home and put it into the tank the battery was dead again and had to be jumped again. Once it started, it ran even worse, started puffing black smoke and idle was around 400. Also threw code for p0100. After reading around it says this is the maf sensor (generally). I just don't even know where to start with this thing, everything I search leads me to different ideas to start with. Any help, suggestion, idea, or comment will be appreciated here. Dsm noob but not totally new to working on cars. Anyways, thanks for the replies.

Some basic questions:

1. What modifications are done to the car?
2. Mileage? Chances are you'll need to catch up on basic maintainance.
3. Check the wiring on the SAFC/MAF. Maybe the guy messed it up somehow and that's what its causing it to act up?
4. check for boost leaks. (also, is the BOV is not recirculated, recirculate it. With the stock MAF, having it vented acts like a big boost leak and thus it'll run rough)
5. Check the alternator. If the battery keeps dying, there's either a draw somewhere, the alternator is not charging, or the battery itself is weak. A weak electrical system will also effect how it runs.

1. To my knowledge, it has 550injectors, a 255 pump, an aem fuel rail and fpr, tubular manifold that I believe may be cracked, 16g turbo, Megan racing 3" turbo back, cat less, a dejon intake with a k&n filtercharger, and a fmic.
2. Mileage is around 147k. I'm sure I could replace quite a bit seeing as how the last receipt for anything is in 07 when they were actually driving it.
3. I've ridden in the car this past summer and it drove fine with the same safc tuner installed and it ran with no issue, hasn't been touched since then to my knowledge, but I will definitely check it out when I et the chance. Ran with no MILs until I started it the second time today after putting gas in. Tuned by buschur forever ago on 93octane so that's what I used.
4. Bov on it runs back into the intake, I did check that out earlier.
5. Some ideas I had seeing as how cheap previous owner was, I wouldn't doubt if they skimped on some cheaper parts. Could it be possible that the bad starter is causing the draw?

What is your fuel pressure at idle? Another thing to check since your getting maf codes look at the safc wiring as said above. There are 2 wires that splice into your maf signal wire at the ecu. Basically what those wires do is force the signal from the maf to go to the safc first, then once it gets to the afc it sends the signal to the ecu. Make sure you have good contact on those wires or it will mess up the signal being sent to the ecu if it even gets there depending on how bad the contact is.

Last time I had it running fuel pressure was around 43-45 psi according to the gauge on the fpr. I will jump into those wires tomorrow hopefully.
