New 16G Dyno Numbers on C16

This site may earn a commission from merchant affiliate links, including eBay, Amazon, and others.

Curt brought his 1G back up to the dyno yesterday with a few gallons of C16 to see what we could make on the stock 7-bolt.

Results: 460awhp/469ftlbs

Car still has a bone stock 7-bolt motor with the exception of cams, ARPs, and a HG. Timing and AFRs are still conservative as it is a DD and has 120k or so on the stock motor. With a good motor and head in the next few weeks I think 500awhp is attainable.

I have a question on Curt's website it says that he has a BR stage III short block and a Ported head. So are these numbers with a stock 7-bolt or the built engine that is listed on Curt's own site. Untitled

The numbers here are with a stock 7 bolt with BS. That built engine was in the car that i currently own. He just got the block and head freshened up with the built engine and it will be going in the car in the near future.

His site is listing his old 16g car, this is a new to him 16g car.

OHHHHHHH, so he had another 16g powered car that also made 460awhp/469awtq. One did it with a build motor and the other with a stock motor. I am just confussed.

The car in this thread is a different 1g, this one has a STOCK 7 BOLT. The old car, the one I own now, that was driven by Pat Donaldson and built by curt brown made like 451 AWHP on E85. Curt bought that car back, parted it out and kep the powertrain and some bolt ons, and gave me the shell. 2 totally different cars. HOPEFULLY this clears up any confusion. LOL ;)

Ok, heres the prognosis, i rode in the car last night and it feels WAYYYY faster than 460whp, i bet the 460 hp run was the base run, it is stock 7 bolt, it has BS still, I LOOKED and i made Curt take off the intake and its a 16g, its all legit! WOW is this car a rocket ship...hello 9.50's on stock bottom end!!! Oh ya 22lbs creeping to 24. :D

I bet it felt fast with a evo3 power band... But honestly, get some videos of this car on the dyno making these numbers, and videos of it going down the track doing sub 11 second passes and then there'd be more believers. But until then.....

Well im basing my opinion off how the previous car ran, i actually drove that car (the 10.33 car) and Curts car now feels much faster than that. Respectfully should though beings it made more whp. But it feels unreal, im certain with the built engine we will all se sub 10 second passes, i will actually put money on it.

Lol this threads went from cars to arguments to physics and back to arguments. The 16g 1g is also on youtube with a 10s pass.

Instead of all the argueing, i'm just trying to figure out how to get that fast. How to tune that well while being "conservative" on the tune, I'm little confused on their idea of "conservative" and still be able to extract over 425hp from e316g and a stock 1g 7 bolt. And more than anything, I'm wondering when i'm doing the AWD conversion so i can launch like that :D

Actually your physics formulas won't work for the aforementioned 1g. The car was pretty much complete if you looked at it inside and out as well as the engine bay it looks for the most part no different than a stock car. Thats the most astonishing part.

Thanks for the legwork too Joe, I was too lazy to link to my own video...

slander over the internet doesn't seem to stop you, why would it stop him? Its hard for one person to really put a dent in a big companies reputation, even when a major forum denounces your vendor status, people still don't really take notice.

Im sure if nate were to follow my post with a post admitting to lying, people would still take their car to him and not really take notice. We both know that wouldn't do shit in the long run. Once you get big, you don't really need to take very good care of your customers, because there will be others, RIGHT JOE?

I LOL at you. SBR = big company, TPG = small basically a few college kids. So your arguments already :beatentodeath:

Correct me if im wrong but i didnt think c16 was pump gas ? I probably got confused by all the talking. I would like to see pictures of the car ? Just the setup and so forth. I dont care about secrets. I dont care if you had made it 2 wheel drive for the run. The numbers and times are great. Lets see the videos of it running and some photos so we can appreciate it ? Thanks .

...C16 isn't pump gas, regardless it's still being argued the 16G numbers are incorrect not the fuel. The posted 10.5 pass wasn't on C16, however I'm not sure about the 10.33, but I believe that it wasn't on C16 but Joe can correct me if I'm wrong there.

There's a youtube video posted by Joe above too in case you didn't see that one. Look under "tpg tuning" on youtube, that's about as much as I can help you with videos.

doesn't matter if it was god's car there is no way an evo 3 16g made those numbers!!!!:boring:
Just because YOU can't make that horsepower on a 16G, doesn't mean it isn't possible.

This isn't bench racing here.
It actually happened!

What's so difficult to understand about this?

People still do not fully appreciate a good tune here. Its not just about fuel here people. There is timing as well.

It's not just fuel and timing, it's all the other little things. Less drivetrain loss and a lower BSFC played a big part of this, I'm sure. Certainly been an interesting read.

He has a complete car for sure. Awesome suspension, and a light car played a huge factor. It just seems as though people were focusing on just fuel tuning.
