Went to the track today and I was VERY happy with my times. Lemme post the original slip with the street tires 1st. This is 1/8th mile of course.

All I did different from last time to this time was swap to slicks. Here's todays results...

Okay, I know the questions are gonna come so lemme go ahead and tell all the info I can think of. 91 Eclipse, fwd, Evo16g turbo running 18psi on 93 octane, open downpipe, gutted interior except for stock dash, seats, console, and door panels. Have Dejontool FMIC, Sard bov with 2 1/2" i/c pipes, Walbro 255, 550cc injectors, GM maf and translator, Autometer Cobalt wideband, Act 2100. Slicks were 15 inches but can't remember the other numbers on em. Ran at 13psi on the tires. That's pretty much it. Oh, and cheap K&N wanna be filter and pipe.

Stock motor, stock cams, stock ecu, stock exhaust manifold, stock throttle body, stock intake manifold. Any questions? I'm a happy camper. Beat everyone I raced today. Woohoo!!! Also beat a guy that use to work at my work. He lives at home with mommy and daddy and talks a lotta smack. Has a newer Mustang GT and was telling the guys in the shop that he'd beat me with street tires. So today he had slicks and still got his butt handed to him with a 7.8 to his 8.4 time. Hahahaha!!!

I have another car I drive but I do drive this one a fair amount. Just don't really care to try and race it on the street though since the traction is so bad. Oh, and I was launching at about 5k rpm as well.

And thanks.

Hoping to have a mbc and have the rest of my gauges installed this month. If so, I'll be trying to get back to the track on Feb. 3rd and I'll be cranking the boost with higher octane. Hoping to get lower than 7.7's on the same setup with only raising the boost. I'll try and post an update when/if I have one.

Thanks for the compliments guys. Someone else just happened to get better video footage though. Here they are. 1st one is just the burnout, 2nd one is the race. Just had a muffler put on the car today so kinda nervous about it slowing me down. All it is, is a downpipe and muffler. But the race in the video was just an open downpipe. Anyway, enjoy...

Oh yeah, and the guy talking in the vid said the incorrect time. He ran an 8.4 at 82mph, not an 8.2 et.

Went to the track again yesterday but best was only 7.9's. Clutch was giving me problems and kept missing gears. Also didn't hook up as well either but here's a couple of pics of the car from yesterday. And yeah, I'm always underestimated. Can ya see why? Lol.

I know they're 15's but not sure on the other dimensions. Car is at the house since the clutch is gone but I'll try and remember to check when I get home and let ya know.

what size are the slicks?

As I read it on the side of the tire. 8.5/23.0-15

My new clutch and flywheel came in today but I've decided to sell my Evo 16g (even though I just bought it and put it on), 550cc injector's, and SS O2 housing so that I can get the things I need to install my T-67. Of course a 7.7 in the 1/8th mile is fast but it's not where I wanna be. I wanna be much faster. So I won't have any updates until I can get my stuff sold and throw the new setup on and tune it.

That's how it was when I bought it. Bad paint job, good et's. I'd paint it if I had the money but I don't. And paint won't make it run faster. Yeah, people laugh at it, till I'm spankin their asses at the track :)

im running the exact same slick size, m&h brand i take it?, its a good combo for the 1/8mi the 23.0in tall changes the gearing quite a bit, loose a bit of top end on the big end (1/4) though.

Yep, M&H. I'd think it'd do just the opposite though. Kinda like having a tall gear on a bike for the faster speed. I'm sure if I had a tire the size of a skateboard wheel, it wouldn't wanna spin very fast. Versus running a taller one that could handle the higher rpm's and not have to spin as fast for the same speed.

I was gonna install my bigger turbo, but just found out last night that there's an event going on at the track in a couple of weeks and the racing is like half of the usual price. So I may just throw my Spec 3 clutch and Fidanza flywheel in and go to the track. Curious to see what losing a few pounds will do to my et's anyway. We'll see. Gotta be able to make it to the track 1st though.

And speaking of the slicks, I dunno about it topping out at the end. Last time at the track, the second run I did was a 7.9 at 95 mph. That was with a passenger this time and I ran a faster mph in that run than I did when I ran 7.7 at 92.

Just north of Panama City. But if you're gonna be in Pensacola, you'd probably wanna be going to Holt. Otherwise known as Emerald Coast Dragway I believe. A lot of people go there and it's a nice track as well.

i think the problem up here is the launching up here in the weather. especially on street tires. Im going to ship the GSX down there so i can get a few passes while im at school.

Well, it's pretty warm down here. Took my girls to the beach today and they both went swimming. The water was a bit cold but it was still warm enough to get in. It's been in the 70's or around 80 here lately. I prefer around 50-60 at the track though so I can still get some good traction yet still have some good power from the cooler air.

well since your et went from 7.7 to 7.9 that explains the increase in mph from 92 to 95mph

with the taller slick (i.e. 24.5in) you get more top end mph on the back half (after the 1/8mi when running the quarter mile), my 23in m&h's hook well and they have a ton of passes on them (no where near new condition) seem to move well outta the hole, gives alot better acceleration which is good as long as u get them nice and sticky before hand, otherwise it ends up hurting you because the shorter slick with less sidewall has more tendancy to break loose since the spining faster
