Ive been researching the NEO and SAFC II and ive ready the neo doesn't work with our maf? but safc II does but it cant fine tune like neo can. Also, I read when converting my 1g maf to the 2g maf it'll lean out and I need to put 550cc in to compensate? Never really tuned much, so trying to find the right direction to start in. I know about Link but I'm not going to purchase that till I have a new DD and can actually get some work done on this car. My specs on the car are up to date, just a stock 91 Eclipse GSX. thanks guys really helped me out in the past.

first off do you have a wideband o2? or atleast a a/f gauge connected to your stock o2? when I used a gm 3 inch maf with the maf translator. You turn the selection knob on the translator for the injectors you have. Dont adjust any of the other settings on it. Then use the safc2 to fine tune everything. Following the setup instructions is the best way to set everything up. I used a neo with the maf translator and it would give me fits. switched to the safc2 and it was easier.

nope I traded my gst for this, and drove it for 3 weeks then tore the engine out and it's being rebuilt, I was going to buy the innovative ls-2 wideband. But I've never heard of the GM MAF? Just speed density and the 2g MAF conversion.

my friend had a 2g maf on his 91 tsi. he just used a safc 1, the 2 isnt all that different. he didn't have any issues with it after he did the setup. You do need some way of monitoring a/f ratios to set these up. Have a a/f guage hooked up to the stock o2. It's easier to tune the idle and low range. A wideband added into it helps with mid and wide open throttle. It only took us about a day to get things dialed in well enough. Its all about monitoring then adjusting.

you could always find someone thats selling d link lite then upgrade when you get that dd. its fairly cheap for the lite. if you are on facebook get on some of the dsm classified pages. people are selling link and other parts for decent prices all the time.

The early versions of the SAFC Neo had a bug that was later corrected with their Karmen MAF support.

I really don't care for GM MAFs and the MAF Translator for tuning. Get an EPROM ECU and an Ostrich to tune with.

I just checked and I have an EPROM ecu, but it's not socketted. But there's this weird grey expoxy like stuff on it? It's hard to the touch.. Any ideas what it is?
