Need some tune-up suggestions

hey guys-
i just got my car half tuned up(had a repair shop do some stuff) and i plan on doing some of the other easier stuff...i had them replace the pcv valve, put a new fuel filter on, turn the rotors and install a new clutch...I knew that i could do the plugs, wires and air filter myself for waaay cheaper, so heres my dilema...i was wondering what type of plugs i should get that are good, but not super expensive...i found bosch plugs for about $0.99 each, and then ac delco(i think) for $1.29 each...what plugs would you guys suggest?? also i found a fram air filter for about $10, and another type for about $15....any suggestions on the air filter? should i just get a cold air intake instead? thanks....

My vote goes for the NGK BPR6ES plugs for a stock or near stock car. And I'm sure most people would agree with me. For the filter I would go with a K&N, there is a reason everyone buys them, they are good quality, and last forever if you buy the refresh kits.

NGK plugs and a K&N all the way! I wouldnt run anything else

cool thanks guys....any idea where the NGK plugs run price wise??? also, the K&N was about $40, is there anything similar but cheaper(im a HUGE cheapskate, i dont like to over-pay for stuff).....or should i just bite the bullet and pay the price for it?

I think I payed $2.99/ea for my NKG's. They're not expensive.

well if you planning on saving money then just get a knock of brand filter from pepboys or something, i use k&n because i have alot of money in my car, also i believe my plugs were about 5$ a piece, but i have the iridiums....which cost more

save money-knock off brands will work fine (might not last as long)
performance-name brands rule

Remember, for 40 bucks you are getting a filter that never needs to be replaced. They are cleanable and its very easy to use. So basically that 10 dollar fram filter is going to be replaced it cannot be cleaned and reused like the K&N. You buy 5 frams over time and thats the same as the better K&N+cleaning kit (9.99). Just something to think about
