I had my head rebuilt 2 days ago and put it on now the engine shakes and sounds and acts like when the water and gas mix together im guessing I have bad valves? no smoke from exhaust just buffing also it just started once thats all I cranked it a few times and cranks normal but wount start I really miss driving my car also the car has like this kinda stroker sound :/ any opinion helps thanks!!!

Yeah I dont know haha it just turn on once with the new head and started doing that had it like that for about 5mins and turned it off and couldent get it to turn back on but it cranks good has fuel and spark :/

Just checked everything bak again just noticed timing belt jumped off time >:/ but put it bak in time and started good this time :) but the tensioner adjuster wount reach to stay adjusted :/

Compress the hydraulic tensioner all the way by adjusting the eccentric. Lot of people say don't, but I've never had a problem doing this. make sure the cam marks are lined up w/ the v.c. where they are supposed to be. I've made that mistake b4.

Yeah this time I wount turn it on without making sure the belt it gonna stay I was thinking welding a piece to thw metal were the tensioner adjuster hits to adjust because I was moving the one with the two holes but it doesent tighten the belt enough :/

Are you using a pry bar against the eccentric (the 1 w/ 2 holes) to keep it tight as you tighten it down?

I would DEFINITELY not weld anything to the arm that the eccentric rests on.

At first it was 3 teeth then 2 and the head was alittle bent and had that fixed and resurfaced but they had told me that the head was done the same thing from the previous owner but idk ive had the car for like about half a year now

Are you positive that the hydraulic tensioner hasn't expired? On my last DSM, I could compress the plug by pressing the tensioner down on the table and inserting the pin.

They're like $100 new from extremepsi.

Well I decited that ima take the head off again reason is because I was thinking since the head has been cut 2 times already :/ its lower and when the belt jumped piston started to hit the valves vecause their closer now and I might have a bent valve since when it turned on the second time when belt had jumped it was buffing :/ ima put new valves and double gasket any opinions?

I do not think you are at that stage yet.

Triple check the the timing belt and BS belts that ALL marks line up.
If that all lines up and is correct, then the next step is to run a "Leak Down Test"
If it fails the leak down test, drop the time belt, and pull the cams, and run the leak down test again. If it fails at this point the head will have to come back off.
If it passes, then the question is why is the cams holding the valves open when they should be closed.

Now the last time the head was off, the cams were removed so the machine shop could surface the head, did YOU bleed down the HLAs before installing them?
I will guess you did not, so you may have to pull them and bleed them down then install again.

I doubt there has been .080 cut off your head to warrent the use of 2 head gaskets.

Now I want to ask, How was the head surfaced?
What head gasket are you using?

Some reading for you.

Since your head has been surfaced twice now, you will want to do this next time it is off.

All this will have a better understanding of your cylinder head.

Do you not have the timing cover for the car that could be what is causing you to fall off. And I dont think ## head is to low ive done timimg on my car and had the cam off by 180 degre and when I turned the crank you could barely here it tap so I dout it was the head I think u have to just get the timing on tight anf put the cover on to be safe nothing jumps up there

I'm really glad you wrote those...Did you contact a mod, to possibly be moved into the tech article section?

I do have the timing cover and it was on but still I dont know how it came off also I have 3 pistons with a little like minimum hits from the valves but ill be buying the valves and putting everything back and making sure its tight and all and Ill be using just 1 head gasket hopefully it wount come off this time and for bogusvo thanks man I apreciate ## help and for the links hopefully the head is still good and not over cut or anything like that I miss driving my car LOL

Yea I hope it works out for you bro keep me posted. Cometic sells a headgasket that o.51 I think for like 100bucks and the could make u a coustome made one thats thicker if you needed to compensate for the the hight lost through shaving the head plus its multi layer stell so you van boost the piss out of I LOL good luck. And ill check and ill look at my car and see if I find out y it slips off and get back to u

Ralliart567 thanks for the info ill be looking into that gasket LOL just had a head shop look into the head did a pressure test and passed and head is still cuttable :) by tomorrow ill know how many valves were bent and stuff but head is still usable and good cant wait to have it done haha

Well I put the head on today quatriple quecked the timing and turned it on and it lived sounded perfect and worked perfect :) just that the idwling was crazy but already have an isc censor on its way :) glad to say that I saved this eagle talon tsi cant wait to drive it
