Need some helpful pointers

[92 TSI]

I just recently bought a 92 TSI and it had a boost leak where the waste gate is held on to the turbo, tightened her up and now she is runnin 16 steady pounds and sometimes almost 19 dependin on the temp. I am new to these cars and would like to know is there anything i can do to get some extra power by doing some little mods myself? Already put a new filter (running open filter) and has one honeycomb punched out? is there anything else im not thinking ok? Please help!?

Thats a lot of boost if its a stock turbo...is it? Is there an aftermarket boost guage? You can search forums here for the upgrade path that helps

no it has a small garret 16g on it..i put a aftermarket gauge in due to how inaccurate the stock ones are...it is a fast little car beings how the kid told me it wasnt tuned. HAHA wrong..but do you know of anythings i can do like bypass this or that or anything that you know of off the top of your head?

thanks man...i was real suprised when it ran a 6 liter gto..either there is something done to that car that i cant find or the kid driving daddys gto didnt know how to drive it one of the two

I think you need to do ALOT of reading. Hacking the mas will usually cause a stock car to run rich. Unless you have a way to compensate for the removed honeycombs extrra air flow. Also garret doesnt make a 16g to my knowledge. If your running 19psi on a 16g fwd you should be pretty happy with the ways its running or I would assume so.

Well at 400 hp and 400tq I will take a wild shot in the dark and say either something was drastically wrong with his car, it wasnt a gto, or ummm...I dont know... the kid fell asleep??
