1. when shopping for an engine why is there 2 types of 420a engines such as long block and short block?
2. What is AWD 4X4 FWD 2WD RWD I KNOW SOME but why diferent doesnt some mean the same?
3 if im going for a 13 sec car what better short block or long block?
4. does it benifit to have a 6 speed trany?

sorry if this sounds realy baby but i was curious of what i need and meanings thanks.

my goal is to get a 420a to 300hp thats all. what woould i need?

honestly, you would probably be better off building a 4g63 if you are wanting to get a 300 hp motor. that number can be had with bolt ons and tuning, and will be much more beefy to handle the extra power.
a 6 speed tranny would be a total and complete waste of time unless it's gonna be an all out drag project, and even then it's not always needed. hope this helps.

Long block includes head and cams, short doesn't.
