hey guys, I was going thru all the wiring for the safc on my 90 tsi awd that I bought 2 weeks ago. I noticed the there were some wires not connected to ecu. Pink and orange for sure, maybe white too. I also noticed the two ground wires of safc... per instructions on vfaq, they need to be on ground on ecu. one has to be closer to the plug harness than the other. I noticed that both wires where grounded together as one piece on the radio tray area. is this okay? per instruction you are suppose to cut air flow signal wire on ecu and splice to afl on afc... what if it was just spliced to the proper wire but was not competely cut? thanks
Let me say, that car would barely run. The timing was jumping all over the place, the car was bucking, smoking and then not smoking. It was a mess. Poor ECU didn't know what was going on.
I even printed out the directions and told him to follow them step by step.
