Need quick help with removing fuel pump

I used a 14mm flare wrench with another wrench on the end of the flare wrench . I also soaked it for a couple days with PB Blaster. Don't give up you'll get it !!

Uh...:ohdamn:

1g guys, this is different. The nut doesn't turn on the 2g sending unit, it is brazed to the tube. You have to unhook the hose from the other end where it hooks to the fuel line than spin the hose to get it off. The nut will not break lose.

I cut mine off and welded a AN off the housing. But if all else fails you can cut the lines then make new like a brake line. I don't know if you can rent the flaring tool or borrow but line and fittings are cheap some people use compression fittings for fuel too

This is correct. The nut is attached to the line. I was hoping I might be able to twist the hose enough to get it off, but I cant even break that hose loose.

If they are rusty i usually have to break out the flat jaw vice grips. I have a nice set of flare wrenches that will get most, but the stubborn ones get the vice grips. It is important to have a good quality brand with flat jaws though. A cheap set will likely round it off.

Ok i just got mine out and the 14mm didnt move the 19 broke loose and i just took the hose off and the line on the pump was welded to it also mine doesnt have the threaded ring in the video its a bunch of 8mm nuts hope it helps.

Had same problems, but persistence prevaled. Its always tough because these are old and have seen the road grime for along time. On mine it was vice grips and a good line wrench. As for the oring, lube that thing up with some gear oil or motor oil, it will help alot. Also in my opinoin I would NOT use a compression fitting on a high pressure fuel line, you are asking for a fire so I hope you don't have to resort to that.

the 14mm on fuel pump side is solid, its one piece with the hard line. you have unscrew the rubber hose off of it. In order to do that you have to undo the 14mm under the car. Use vise grips on both 14mm, its just easier.

I'm not saying you should or shouldn't use a compression fitting or cut it at all but if you are in a pinch either will work until you can fix it correctly. But compression fittings are for fuel lines and and are a oem approved repair for fuel systems. On my car I took the line loose at the next spot under the car and was able to get the pump out then it may be easier to try to get loose mine still kinked.

Another tip: grab some aluminum foil and as soon as you blast the joint with lube wrap a piece of foil around it. That will keep more oil around the joint allowing it to do it's job instead of dripping off.
