Hey just looking for some input on the 2gb wheels. I painted the center spoke. Its not finished I did the two on the driver side and Yes I oversprayed the lug nuts i have new ones. I plan on keeping the center caps silver but not sure yet. I still have some touching up to do but you get the idea.

Looksgood but would like to see a wider shot to see the paint color and how it looks on the car.

Not to sound like an ass, but why are you painting wheels when you need to spend money on tires LOL

LOL you're not getting a wide shot. The car is being converted to a 2g eclipse and its in the process of prepping for paint :)

Its going to be jet black lowered w that color of wheels and Red calipers. The tires are balding on the sides but I just picked em up for $100 as is. One rim is bent pretty bad but I can replace it and for a set of these 5spokes w two good tires I think I got a steal

Im lowering the car soon waiting on the cheap springs. Im waiting to see how much clearance im going to have as Im going to try to run a 40 or 45 series tire instead of the 2555/60 stocker. Any suggestions on a tire size that wont make it look like a vato ride? LOL

I used to run 245 on the 17s but ive never ran 16s before :ohdamn:

Looks good! Im looking forward to the shot of the finished car

Im going on a limb to get some 2gb headlights. $65 shipped to my door. OEM mint. Ive located the rear sideskirts mint and rear bumper/tailight assembly from a 2ga eclipse for $200 down the road. I cant find the 99 skirts/rear bumper for a decent price. We have a local aftermarket body parts warehouse called Certifit or sorta fit as we like to call it. They sell the 2gb front cover for $40 it even has the shave spot where the mitsu diamond goes. I would have the stuff purcahsed already but I had some minor setbacks as Im having to replace a rear hubassembly and cv shaft which kinda drained my DSM piggy bank :(

As soon as I can located a place to shoot I am going to take a few days off and get after the body work> My compressor died here at home but I just talked to my gf and if I clean out her moms old shop I can have it to paint and sand. Woot woot

So... hopefully within the month Ill have everything ready to go. The 14b is going on hopefully wednesday and also adjustable lowering springs/coilovers to get it loooow

Im hoping to get some good pics of the project as it comes along.

i'm not a big fan of unpainted outer lips(silver part), but it doesn't look bad, especially if it fits/matches the overall color of the car. You should try photoshoping the whole wheel the same color to see the difference of silver lip to completely painted. My .02cents

looks great!!! and depending on the lowered amount, id personally do maybe a 205/50 or 55 just to fill the wells up. but if you like the low profile then probably 205/45. although the full diameter would be kinda small. but i think it'd still look awesome. that paint scheme looks great

Well heres the finished pic a little lower than I want so need to do some adjusting. Im a litttle sore today I had a minor accident I was readjusting the front end and the wind blew the car off the jack stands. Crazy right anyways the front bumper dropped pretty hard on my thighs but luckily the toppled jackstand caught the fall. yikes! Im very sore today so were going to finish this up later LOL

It looks good. You should stick with your own style anyways.

It does look pretty slammed though.... I'd def raise it up a bit. Tinted windows would really finish off the look. Seems unfinished w/o em.

Good thing youre ok too man OMG... that could have ended in disaster.

Looks good! I think it would look better with a painted center cap with red badge. Just my .02

I cant decide If I want to go Matte black or gloss. Thats just some cheap flat I shot between sanding. I had to take it down to metal in a few spots because the factory black was in shit shape. Im definately tinting the windows but im at a loss on the paint job. I can paint and I have the paint Im just taking my time on the body work and Its a tossup between matte and gloss

Thats a hard one.... Sometimes matte just doesn't look good on certain cars. I think I would stick with matte black tbh though.

Its a toughy. Matte looks mad sick when layed down correctly. I actually was visualizing the wheel/paint combo along with the matte black from an Evo IX my buddy drives. Im going to put back on the 2ga wing tomorrow (im stuck home sick) and am awaiting the 2gb eclipse headlights so I can throw on the 2gb bumper. I havent decided on keeping the wing or going wingless. I removed it a few days after I bougth the car but filling in the holes is going to be a PITA

What paint did you use?? Right now my GSX wheels are at a shop getting powdered Mercedes black. I want a bronze or gold lip, and Im just going to paint it. I ve seen the duplicolor bronze but it might be too dark. Ive found a grimmspeed wheel paint too made for subarus. Its a gold and I dont know where to get it. Is that paint anything special?
Edit: Paint the centercaps??

I used a GOLD rattle can paint. Its nothing special. Once it was done drying for a few days I used the duplicolor high performance wheel clear. The clear has some pearlescent in it and ive used it on a few sets of wheels. It holds up well to flaking chipping and most wheel cleaners. I started with gold rather than bronze because the clear alters the color after its dried.

It cost me about $10 to do them and they look really glossy in person. Everybody thinks they are aftermarket w factory center caps or powdercoated. Im contemplating on painting them I didnt have them at the time. I found them in the back seat of a car at the local pick a part the day I installed them. Go figure

Yes the duplicolor wheel bronze is about ten shades darker. Its almost brown once you get the clear on top which i strongly recommend
