i am wanting to delete the egr and vacuum set up in the car. 2 questions: 1) does anyone know if you need the car to be tuned without the vacuum and egr or will it run ok and just have a CEL 2) I saw the diargram on here before for the vacuum delete but cant find it anymore does someone have the link for it? thanks

You don't need to re-tune your car after removing the vacuum lines.

Just run a line from the
im to fpr
im to bov
compressor cover or j-pipe to wastegate
use the P port on the tb for the boost/vacuum gauge, block the rest of them off.

cool thanks man

even all those vacuum lines that are bolted to the firewall that run to the solenoids all that can be unplugged and thrown on. and how about the fuel solenoid that bolts next to the brake reservoir

That's your (fpr) sensor.

Fallow the vacuum line from the fuel Regulator (at the end of the fuel rail),
where it connects, (That will be your fpr sensor).

That's the only sensor that you will need.

I would relocate it, where is not visible to have a nice and clean area.

I have a similar question. Theres like 3 or 4 vac lines that ran from the solinoids on the firewall down below the batter tray. Do those all get deleted to or what? Does one go to the charcoal canister?

Follow the diagrams in the link I posted. They go to the throttle body, purge control valve, fpr, charcoal canister, and the egr valve. Just follow the diagram.

If you do not have a way to turn off emission CEL checks then leave the solenoids plugged in, if you can turn off that check then you can remove them completely.

The mess of vacuum lines behind the intake manifold pretty much all loop together in some form or another as they are all part of the same system. Taking out your battery tray you'll have a better view of where the lines go.

The only vac lines you need are the brake booster, PCV, BOV, FPR, wastegate. I would try to keep the VC breather line hooked up to the intake manifold if possible and the charcoal canister can be removed if doing the emissions delete. You'll want to keep the check valve in place on the fat rubber hose coming into the engine bay. That hose is a breather for the gas tank.

ok i got a hose/vac line that runs from behind the IM it runs up to just about where the stock FPR is about. now i am running an aftermarket knock off of the aeromotive FPR so where does that line/hose go it actually a little bigger then a vac line and a bit smaller then fuel line if you gues are confused ill try and get a pic of it

The AFPR will still go into the intake manifold. Mine is plumbed into where the stock line went. If need be, use a smaller hose and force the line onto the AFPR and use zip ties onto the smaller nipple.

liquid do you have pics or a site of how to hook up an AFPR. i would probably understand all this so much better if this wasnt my first dsm. im car knowledgable but being my first turbo'd car and first car ive ever done motor work or actually big upgrades im deffinitely a newb to this. and that is why im stuck in the newbie forums for now.

There is a fuel inlet which goes from the rail to the AFPR and the outlet which flows from the AFPR to the tank. If you look at the OEM rail towards the timing belt, there is the stock FPR. You are just replacing that with the adjustable piece. You may need to add more line to make it work for you application.

Here is the VFAQ for an AFPR install however.
SX FPR install

My AFPR is attached directly to the rail.

No problem bud. Good luck with the install and make sure you have everything you need before tearing it all apart. Be sure to either cover the rail fitting when you unbolt it even after relieving fuel pressure.

i removed the fpr soleniod u dont really need it. romove the waste gate soleniod too and just run a vacuum line from ## turbo to the internal wastegate ull gain about 2psi. then plug off all the lines to the tb. u will notice difference. the car run smoother. everything on the fire wall can go. ill post pics soon

So when you put the block the turbo compressor outlet where do u hook in the wastegate? I don't have a mbc yet do i just instead put the stock one there? i blocked my intake tube that goes to the compressor outlet nipple. Do i tube the WG to the BOV line? I thought somone told me the BOV needs it own line. But i don't see where it goes if it cant go to the BOV line. Thanks

Don't block off the compressor housing or T into the BOV line. For all their brilliance, those two areas are where each of the Taboo diagrams fail. Here's a diagram of the "1G Race Only" setups I modified and, minus the catch can, is precisely how my car is set up. Note that as a full race setup, it has a modified PCV system with the catch-can in place, so the original PCV port on the intake manifold is blocked off (bottom, left side of intake manifold).

You are correct, you do not want to tap the BOV line. Use the compressor cover as your boost source, don't block it off (that is wrong in the diagram).

Good job as usual Brian!

Ok but whats blocked off up near the 4 main blocked lines? near where the bov goes in? Oh wait just realized its blocked for the catch can. Okay do i need a catch can or is a breather okay? And if you don;t have a mbc do you just put in its place the stock solenoid guy?

Right, that is for the catch can on a "race" setup. On a street car, I would retain the pcv valve and just run a catch can bewteen the valve cover vent and the intake pipe (better option) or just a breater on the vent. Check out calan's PCV tech article for a more in-depth explination.

If you don't have a MBC you would run that line to the BCS as shown in the factory vacuum diagram linked several posts above. Or you culd run the line directly from the compressor cover to the wastegate to just run wastegate pressure.

Awesome diagram!
For some reason it seems a lot easier to read than the Taboo diagram.:aha:
Maybe it is just me?
Well I just wanted to make sure, if I can totally bypass the FPR solenoid?

Yes.

For the record, the Taboo article has been updated with diagrams that correct the MBC hose routing. As far as I am aware, the original text still holds true which is why no corrections were made there.
