need help with knock sensor

i did a 6 bolt swap in my 2g gsx a little while ago and everything is running great but i realized that i forgot to hook up the knock sensor. how is this going to affect my car? also is it possible to screw it in to the back of the block when the motor is in the car?

Without it is a bad thing, but you can install it in the bay so go ahead and install it.

I replaced mine from underneath the car on my 1G AWD. I might have removed the transfer case to get to it but it was no big deal. It is just four bolts.
