Need Help With Flushing Radiator.

I need help with flushing the radiator. I nkow that I first drain the radiator, then drain the coolant out of the block. The problem is that i cant find the drain from the block. Is there anything else i have to remove?

There is no drain for the block, most of it will come out from the water pipe that runs behind your turbo to the transmission side and hooks up to the lower part of the radiator. So basically remove the lower radiator hose and the radiator willl drain there as well as the block.

I used a garden hose and ran water thru the radiator for a few minutes to flush it; from the top hole of course.

i was reading the haynes manuel and they were saying that theres a drain plug on the bottom of the radiator, remove it and it coems out..


so in a nutshell i should jsut remove the lower radiator hose and it will completely drain everything?

Not everything..but enough for you to put a water hose in it to get the rest out, & not really be a hazard to animals..oh & make sure the car is level. First time I ever flushed my radiator, I had the front of the car jacked up because I was changing brake pads at the same time..I didn't even think anything of it.. D'oh.
