My 96 gst just turned on the CEL and had an elevated idle for no reason as far as i can find. I am tring to find out how to turn the light off but i have no idea how to. I work for a chevrolet dealer and do not have the scanners to turn it out. Any help would be nice. Thanks Jo :dsm:

Go to a reputable parts house and get a obd II code retriever. This should tell you what turned the light on. When you get the code, post it. or email me and I'll try to help you with it. Vacuum leak comes first to mind but as I have said in the past I can't see or hear what is happening. Check for the obvious. Vacuum leak, pcv valve stuck open, etc. You would be surprised at what you can find. Let me know.

Thanks for the help. I hooked it up to a snap on scanner here at work and got a P0505 idle control malufuction code has anyone ever delt with this before, and anyone have a solution for it. Thanks Jo :dsm:
