need help installing evo8 piston and rods

I've been searching all day but can't find any answer. I purchased a evo8 piston and rods, now I need to know what else do I need to get or buy to get this piston/rods into my engine? i.e. rings ( what size and do i need the evo8 or 2g ), head gasket ( OEM? ), bearing ( what size and how many? ) and lastly how to exactly install them? I read that it has to be backwards, means that the dot will face the timing belt area. thanks in advance..

Since you have the EVO VIII pistons.... Buy Evo VIII rings, is the correct oversize to fit the pistons and bore of the block.

A Composite HG, OE or Felpro 9627 PT will be just fine, with ARP studs.

The bearings will be what you need to fit the crank, if you have a STD crank, get std bearings.

Thanks bogus, your always helping people... So now the installation is straight forward? Dot should be facing timing area? Do I need the bearings for the rods also?

Make sure the ring gaps do not line up

The rod housing bore is the same for the evoVIII and DSM 7bolt, get the bearings that fit your crank, rods and mains.

Yes dot to the timing belt, Front of engine.

Check ring gaps, check PTW, check bearing clearances.

I would pull crank, have oil galley balls removed and tapped for plugs, have crank mic'ed, polished/ground/replace as needed.

Ok will be pulling out the crank asap, i'll post pictures when I pull it. Thing is I might have a crankwalk, sorry for using that word, I know alot of people here hate that word, so pretty much I'm doing a budget rebuild about less than $500 to spend. Again thanks a bunch

Do not feel bad, Had a saddle bearing 7 bolt short block dropped off yesterday, I checked crankshaft end play before it was even pull off the truck... a quick check showed .011 max spec is .0098 (.010)

bought the DNJ rings for $70 shipped
acl bearings main and rod $100 shipped
do I need to replace the oem rod bolt on the evo8? I found a set for less than $50 and its arp rod bolts. ( I'll be searching this again thanks.

STM sells it for $39 on arp rod bolts, do I need it?

Well evo 8/9 is forge, reason i'm doing the budget build. As for the rings $240? I won't pay for it, decided to get a dnj rings way cheaper and read a good review from them on a different forums. And yes if I spend 240 for the rings, might as well get the wiesco or manley pistons with rings already for a bit more $.

Should I get the composte HG and arp head bolt as a package from extreme psi? You guys recommending the OEM HG or any composite?

Also, since im using evo8 rods, do i need the bearing for evo8 or the 2g bearing should be fine?
