I want to get dynotuned yesterday and the car dynoed at 234 even with proper tuning. Martin from thespeedfactor.com helped me out and showed me the intercooler pipe pressure leak tester. Im going to try that today, but is there any other leak testers I should try as well? Does that test show leaks in the vaccuum lines? Your help would be appreciated. Thank you.

what kinda boost were you getting in your gauge, thats more important, even though it was leaking, if it was, if you were still getting enough boost in your manifold, something else is wrong

if that power was at 25psi, i think something is really wrong

if its at 15psi, crank it up to 25, LOL

i think you forgot to bolt the turbo on the car. need more information than what your giving.

Exactly...

What turbo?
What Injectors
How much boost?
What tuning device do you have afc?
Were you measuring your AFR?

etc etc... Obviously 234whp is wrong for that turbo, view my profile for some info...

Well it was at 21 psi at one point, then after that without even moving it the boost went to about 17. At 21 psi, I still did 234 whp.

Pte 50trim
650cc injectors
Walbro 255hp
Safc2

The mechanic and I doublechecked the car and everything looked connected correctly. What kind of tests can I do to check what is wrong?

intake leak test, and try to get a little more boost and get it to hold. this was on pump im assuming. i think youve got a nice leak, and a poor tune.

Have you ever compression checked the motor?

Is this on a FMIC or a side mount?

What do the maps look like on the afc?

What were the A/Fs on the dyno?

What kind of dyno?

Sorry for all the questions! LOL

I have a ADFX FMIC

My maps on high show -19%

A/F on dyno stayed almost consistent on 11.5

It is a 2wheeldyno. I think its called a dynojet. Not too sure though.

Oh yes, and the takeoff on the car is very slow even while Im launching. After about 40mph it kicks kinda hard. Thought I should mention that. Thank you guys for your help. I really want to get this fixed. Thank you.

Looks like somthing else is definetly wrong here. A/F are good for pump, and that AFC map looks ok. Boost leak check the charge pipes and make sure you dont have a ginormous leak somwhere.

Any CELs?

Is the turbo internally gated? If so did you try to tighten the actuator arm?

Yup the turbo is internally gated and no I havent messed with the actuator arm. How can I check the charge pipes? With the intercooler pipe pressure leak tester? Thanks for your help.

I thought the same thing when he first told me about what happened. it must be a huge leak or his actuator is just opening the damn time.

wow ... makes me wanna stick with a t25 LOL. Do a boost leak tester ( it will also show some vaccum leaks as well as intercooler piping leaks .. then do a compression test.

you are right but i was never told anything about a recent timing belt job. From what i understand it was after the 50trim was installed with the new parts that he began to have the problem. But you are right, if the timing is off even a tooth or two it can not only cause the engine to not run properly but is quite dangerous for the motor in General.

Well guys i fixed a leak I had and I hit 21 psi. So I decided to go to the track. Well my first run, my 60 foot was a 2.9! No I did not peel out, it wouldnt even go! Then after a while it boosted to 21 and it started spinning like at the 330foot mark. I dont know what is wrong. I did a 14.9 at 104. Something is not right. Before these current mods, I hit a 15.0 with a 2.1 60 foot. Could it be the tuning?

I had a similar situation happen to me. When I had my 7bolt, dynoed the 50trim at 279hp at 21psi, with the mods at that time I thought for sure 300 or better. They tuned with a wideband also.

Got home and did a boost leak test, sure enough had a good size leak. I didn't change the settings on the SAFC from the dyno tune and went to the track. Before the dyno tune I was running hi 12's low 13's, with the dyno settings I ran high 13's spool up was sluggish, had to lean it out to get back to where it was running before. Pocketlogger is your friend. I did manage to run a best time and trap that day.
So highentenzity4 did you retune for the boost leak?

Well I think i got tuned with the boost leak. I havent leaned out the air/fuel mixture. So were your 60 foot times similar? Well I found a leak on the vaccuum side of the intake, I capped it off but it tore. Could that have caused my low dynonumbers? Thanks guys.

What do you use for tuning purposes? Rich condition will spool turbo slower. Yes a boost leak or vacumn leak will make your engine run poorly.

What rpm do you launch at?

I see your an automatic, I can't compare 60' times with you.

what clutch are you running, and is it in good shape? My buddy was running a gt28 turbo on his gsx for a while and hes running 22psi and he put down close to 300 hp his first run then after he got a new clutch is went up almost 20 hp just from not slipping
