So yea I was wondering on getting a 2.3l stroker however I heard that they can't rev high. Also heard that they ### more wear and tear. It doesn't steer me away from getting one but I figured a stage 3 buschur block and head would be very sufficiant and can rev up nicely to 11k. I also believe a buschur motor would be more suitable for everyday driving, then a stroker engine? (any opinions)
I'm looking to go big with my 99 gsx. 600+ hp or more!
I've done a lot of searching through threads and online but I want more opinions before I decide on choosing the motor.
Thanks

Do a 2.4. You get a 4g64 bottom end with low compression pistions with a 4g63T head and its a very streetable car. Not stroked at all very reliable. Or you can do the G4CS (which is just the 6 bolt version which you can get the block out of an older Hyundai Sonata).

2.3 vs 2.4 there's no real difference since the rods are the same length, it's just the wrist pin positioned differently on the piston for the difference in deck height.

IMO the extra wear & tear 2.0 vs 2.3/2.4 is on the driveline because of the added torque. Your transmission will hate you.

You dont need high rev's the 2.4 motor i have now was in a rear wheel colt and made 480+hp before at around 7500 rpm and ran a low 10 sec pass on stock valve train and fp2 cams

well i'm not looking to replace my transmission every year for the extra torque but im not sure how that all works out... i plan on putting a race trans in there as well but would race trans hold up to a stroker engine as good as it would hold up to a 2.0l?

go 2.3/2.4 with 9.0:1 pistons, kiggly valve springs and refreshed valve train and you should be able to rev to 7500-8000 no problem.

the stroker is more a street/strip setup which will prob be enough hp (depending on turbo) for you goals, and as well have great street manners.

a built 2.0 that can rev to 10k would be fun as a all out drag car, but its street manners would be horrible for a DD in my opinion

p.s. FP valve spring are good also as a second option since the kigglys are kinda $$$$$$$

No I got lucky and found already completely built...but its no different then building any other 6-bolt. all you use is the block and crank, everything else from your current setup will swap over. As far as engine internals you can use the crank and rods, but you have to use aftermarket turbo pistons.

Why would it be horrible for a DD?

well i would make everything aftermarket. If i already have it apart mine as well go big! how much did u pay for yours?

I got mine for 1500 it had 3 passes on the motor before he totaled it. 2.4 G6CS Eagle rods, Wiesco Pistons, ARP mains, and head studs, fp2 cams, 3g lifters, port and polished head and a fluid dampner crank pulley.

I have a 6-bolt 2.3l in my daily/track car. I just finished it a few months ago and tuned it last week. My build specs and dyno sheet can be found from my profile. Hopefully I will run my first 1/4 with the setup tomorrow.

I am enjoying the car as a daily driver and I don't rev it much past 7000 just to be sure it is good. It makes over 400 awhp from about 5000 RPM to 7200 and maybe farther if we pushed it.
