I took my 90 GSX to my machanic cause I thought a bearing in one of my pulleys went out. Turns out that the timing tensionor came loose and all the valves hit my pistons and bent. All 4 cylinders have 0 compression. My mechanic said it'd be about $1800 to have the valves fixed and the head machined, if the head wasn't screwed. What would be the best thing to do? Have the vavles and head fixed if they can be or buy an after market head and where could I find a good after market head. I don't want to spend more money on an aftermarket head than it would cost to fix my old one. So if anyone has a good suggestion please tell me.
