Transfer Case ISSUE...need good advice!

hey


I have a JDM 6 bolt motor and a JDM transmission in my 90 tsi awd.....

however.... i am running my old USDM transfer case.... i have been noticing some problems with the way my car moves after is in gear. The car shakes quite a bit when i let off the throttle.... Im thinking that the ratios dont match from the tranny and the xfer case.... is this a big problem??? Should I swap in my JDM transfer case??

first of all.. if "ratios" didn't match up... you'd be F'd... but did you replace the front and rear diffs with jdm units??

3 bolt rear diff is USDM... xfer case is USDM..... tranny is JDM... motor is JDM.


Im pretty sure that the ratio of the USDM xfer case is differnt then that of the JDM tranny....


but any advice u give me will help.

According to the above links, the primary, secondary, and final drive ratios, as well as the t-case tooth count are all the same. You could try swapping transfer cases just to be 100% sure, though, since the ratios on the first link above may be only one version of the JDM transmission.
