Hey guys i just recently got my car runnng after 2 years of sitting, well i have a AEM wb02 and tunerpor with an ostrich and at idle it will stay around 14.50-14.70 well wide open it goes lean to 13.50 13.70 well i cranked the fuel pressure up to 60 psi it was @ 11.3-11.4 wide open! if i get it idleing at 14.7 like the afr map in tunerpro shouldn't it stay on the map even wideopen to 10.5 were i have it set ? does this sound like my adjustable fpr is not rising at 1:1 ? im stumped..........

13.xx:1 is richer than 14.7:1, not leaner. But in the context of WOT tuning, 13.xx:1 is too lean. Is that what you are trying to say?

You could have a bad afpr, but even if it's not rising with boost, at 60psi fuel pressure you are already starting where you'd be if you are flowing 16-17psi of boost.

How much boost are you trying to run on the stock 450's? Too much airflow could very well be your problem if you are running 11.5:1, while targeting 10.5:1. You could be overrunning your injectors.

well i'm running a ported 14b at 8-10 lbs i don't even have a controller hook up right now so i can tune it before i crank it up, yes wide open it goes to about 13.50-13.70 i had to turn the fuel pressure up to 60 psi just to get it to 11.3-11.4 but now it idles at 10.1 ! my main concern is why its not staying on the fuel map which is set to 10.5:1 when at 42 psi. the tank is clean i just put a new fuel filter on it and the injectors are clean......

I'd check the afpr first. Make sure the vac line running to it does not have any holes by pressure testing it, and that the diaphragm in the fpr itself is not torn. Fuel pressure regulation is purely mechanical, and the ecu air/fuel maps control how much of that pressurized fuel enters the engine. You can fudge the fuel trims/afr's with the fuel pressure, but if your afr's are off that far at both closed and open loop with so much pressure dialed in at idle, I'd put money on the afpr.

Also, since you are only using stock injectors, you can always put the factory chip back in the ecu and you'll know if the emulator tune is to blame when you are at WOT if the afpr/vac line checks out.

How old is your pump? It's possible that it's starting to fail if it's really old and could be causing these symptoms.

well i have been checking some things, i have found out that my tps is bad only reading 1/4 throttle and that my thorttle cable had slid foward only giving me maybe 3/4 throttle would that cause a lean condition wide open ? now i have to search the classifieds to look for a 4 pin tps !

Good find! Did you check the tps with the cable disconnected, so that you can move it through it's full range? If not, try that to verify that it's bad for sure. Take up the slack in the cable and see how it reads. If it's definitely bad, that would cause the ecu to never put you into open loop operation, where the higher fuel and timing maps are stored. Get that taken care of, reset your fp to stock (with the vac line off and pinched), and I bet you'll be good to go.

i tried to check it like a 3 wire tps but i didn't know what to do about the 4th wire, do you know if checking the 4wire is the same as the 3 wire ? i don't want to buy one if it isn't bad but when i went through the range it read till about 1/4 throttle then it just quit so i think it bad !

well guys i still have the same problems after changing the tps ? at idle it will stay on 14.7:1 then go to about 12.8:1 wide open when the psi is at 60 psi at idle ! i have the wide open trims set to 11.1, so i could back the pressure down alittle bit to hit the target. the boost is at 12 psi so i know it isn't maxing out the injectors. i'm at a loss and need this thing fixed. could it be a boost leak..........

guys i still have the same problem ! i blew the head gasket the other day. well after fixing the head gasket with a better brand. on 10-12 psi the wideband is at 10.8 wideopen when i have the stock fuel map so it should be on 9.8 so i still don't know....... surely these stock injectors aint maxed at 10-12 psi !

Are all of the load setting set up same as stock fuel map? 10psi will definitely not be on the highest load if you didnt modify the whole map
I know its kind of a stupid question, but just something to be sure of

the map is stock, i thought that 2g's went off of throttle position not boost ? i have no settings for boost pressure only load which i thought was throttle position ! i have tunerpro rt........ if it does go off of boost i'm stumped on how to figure out what cell to modify.....

It is going to go off of the MAF signal(hz) which is based on airflow. I would modify the whole map as a stock 2g. I read your other thread you just started and recommend you put your stock regulator on as well to eliminate that as a problem.

the whole map is the stock 2g from a stock bin i had. and the ebay fpr works great i check it already ! are you familiar with tunerpro rt !

Could a bad 02 cause it to be lean wide open. I just found out mine was bad, so i replaced it with a good used one.

I know for 1g, the ecu does not use O2 feedback for open loop. Im not sure if this applies to 2g as well. I use tunerpro, not rt, but have looked through and appears same except real time editing.

so the scale on the left side for timing low23456789101112131415high is for boost ? So if i'm at 12 psi i go strait over and look for the rpm and thats what cell i'm in ! i'm still new to using tunerpro.....

Each value on the left represents a "load level" not psi of boost.
It is based on MAF signal.
12 psi is not going to be the highest load map on a 2g. It could be 8,9,10 and so forth.
Check what your timing is at a given rpm point and try and find the load level.
